Hello, this device can handle up to 180°F. If it gets too hot it'll simply shut down until it cools down. We're based in California and it's been fine the past year (including summer).

What is keeping you from installing it? Plus it into the cigarette lighter. Then connect the big camera. Use the clear sheet if you want to protect tinted window. Then plug the small metal pin into the top of the camera and stick the back small camera on the back, cord going to the right. Pretty simple. As far as hiding the wires, who cares?

@@LetsYada I guess I learned that you have to have it all Calibrated first after “driving” and fully fictional. I was experiencing the same “emergency event” recording every time it was supposed to stay on and record parking. Then it would shut off instead of recording the parking event. @@Chello274 Have you tried a different power source or a different cable? Also, when it's too hot or too cold it may shut down for safety reasons. Bring it in for half an hour or so it'll start working again.

Hi Jennifer, we suggest unplugging the dash cam, let its built-in battery run out (takes ~10 mins or so), and plug it back in again, it should work properly then. It may have been the temperature that got it to malfunction a bit.

Hi, for the SD card issue, please go into your dash cam's settings menu and format the SD card, it should work then.

Yup, the audio recording can be turned on/off.

Hello, for this model, you'll need to press and hold the second button down (there's a wifi icon next to it) to turn the wifi on. You'll be able to find it then.

Hello, the built-in battery may have deteriorated over time, this tends to happen to older dash cams. Can you contact our customer service for additional assistance?

This particular camera is only compatible with SD cards of up to 32GB. You may try larger ones but they're not guaranteed to work. Try lowering the G-sensor sensitivity to mid; g-sensor trigger recorded videos won't get auto deleted hence may eat up memory space. Once you've done that, delete the videos in the events folder, that should fix the issue.

Shouldn't need manual charging at all unless you use it 20+ times per day for 2 weeks straight. Otherwise it should always be close to fully charged.

i just ran into the same issue. There is a tiny reset power button on the cam. its located just to the right of where you put the sd card. you'd need something like what comes with modern phones to open the simcard slot to push it. while powered and sd card in cam hold reset button for about 5 seconds release and press the normal power button. (boxed check mark) should power back up as normal right away.

@julyjulio2011 any chance you know a fix for it not recording audio ? i made sure the option was set to on but non of the files have audio...

I reset the device and no luck. I’m not sure what the problem could be. Maybe the Texas heat (116F) messed with it over time.

It’s kinda the point…. It’s a (sorta kinda) easy way out, to DIY a backup camera, without the general mess and headaches associated with routing up a wired backup camera to your car (with or without an existing stereo car play system). For the $100, and at my local Walmart…. I’d rather pay and DIY that, rather than install a custom double DIN (default) touch screen stereo car play system. The double din system alone, for a decent one, is well into $2-300+, not to mention the costs and effort(s) for wiring it up and disassembling/reassembling your auto interior… And if you were to get a custom double din car play stereo system installed on your car, that’s assuming it doesn’t requiring extra wiring and soldering (mostly cheaper kits), and that it doesn’t require extra or custom car interior pieces (depends on the car). Oh, and labor! That’s all gotta be AT LEAST another $2-400, depending… I have a 2010-2011 Chevy Camaro coupe, and those only either come with really expensive aftermarket options, some which are partially assembled and some which need modifications to the existing car interior trim pieces. We’re talking about well over $3-500+, and STILL needing to do a fair amount of DIY work that goes beyond just ‘plug-n-play’. I think this is a fair compromise in my case, but that’s just my personal 2 cents on it.

Did you use the 12V plug in your car? If you did, it should turn on/off with your car.

Hi! is it turning off or going into screen save mode? sometimes dashcams would turn off the screen to lower the power consumption but the recording should continue.

It comes with a adapter that you put the micro sd card in and then you can upload on your computer with a external plug in that fits the adapter. Thats what i did check my channel for dashcam video its good quality
