I don't think universal changes would ruin Smash. I mean games do evolve and I don't think you can improve the current system that much anymore. As long as it doesn't turn Smash into an entirely different game from anything we've seen in the past and they implement the changes well, universal changes could be just what this franchise needs to stay fresh and not just continue the powercreep.
