#18 National Day Celebration | Baking a 5-minute Strawberry Cake | Tying a Bouqet from our Garden
Hello everyone and a warm welcome to our silent vlog. Today we share our traditional National Day celebrations on the Swedish west coast. You can come along with us for a morning coffee in the greenhouse when we plan the days activitys. Then we will pick some flowers in our garden and make a nice bouqet. We will take a walk to a nearby farm to pick strawberries for the party and make a gourgeous 5-minute strawberry cake. We might drop by the folk museum nearby and watch the national day celebrations. Finally we will serve a glass of home made sparkling wine from our own grapes and have a pice of the strawberry cake before saying goodbye. RECIPE FOR STRAWBERRY CAKE WITH MERINGUE
2 Meringue bases
Chocolate sauce
Fresh strawberries
5 dl whipping cream
4 servings of vanilla cream
HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE SAUCE
1 tablespoon butter
1 1/2 tbsp cocoa
1 tablespoon of syrup
2 teaspoons of vanilla sugar
1 dl whipping cream
A pinch of salt
THIS IS HOW I DO IT
CHOCOLATE SAUCE
Put all the ingredients in a saucepan
Whisk together and boil gently
Pour the chocolate sauce into a jug and leave to cool
STRAWBERRY CAKE
Place a meringue base on a plate
Pour on chocolate sauce (homemade or bought)
Whip the cream and mix with vanilla cream
Spread the vanilla cream over the chocolate sauce
Slice fresh strawberries and add the vanilla cream
Add the second meringue base
Spread vanilla cream
Decorate with whole strawberries
ENJOY!

hola tinay Mr C me encanta ver su día a día me encanta su vida tranquila y lenta rodeada de tan hermosa naturaleza y me a encantado que tocaras el tema del cambio climático y de eso pienso igual que tú debemos tomar conciencia de que es un grave problema y de aportar haciéndolo desde casa porque con cambios pequeños o grandes hacemos la diferencia reciclando, plantando, no tirar la basura en dónde no debemos hacerlo por ejemplo en calles, parques, rios y mar , menos consumismo, cosechar muchos productos en casa, menos aerosoles, caminar y usar a menudo bicicleta como transporte, no desperdiciar el agua,evitar tirar tanta comida preparar solo la que vayamosa utilizar etc e implentar las que has mencionado aquí tenemos el compromiso de hacer cambios para dejarles a nuestros hijos, nietos un mejor mundo un planeta más sano apoyemos a nuestros productores locales, apoyemos el turismo sustentable, el turismo interno SI SE PUEDE, SOLO HACE FALTA QUERER HACERLO PD: bellisimo jardín gracias, gracias por este excelente video Dios les bendiga grandemente a los dos y a su familia 🙏 😘 y claro que nunca dudamos de estar aquí para un nuevo video

Just found your channel as adore Sweden and its culture. It is nice to see others in a similar place in life. My children are poised to go to university and I am already emotional. One thing I must know: how do Swedes have fika every day and still remain thin? When I finished menopause I couldn't even breathe near a carb - a croissant or any pastry- without putting on weight! Heading to Stockholm for a holiday with my daughter this summer but I'm actually dreading fika😂
Hi CC and sorry for late answer. Thanks for your support, so glad you like what we do. Well, the secret about the everyday fika must be the viking genes.. No, seriously, when you visit Stockholm I think you will notice that scandinavians are not immune to carbs, unfortunately. I have the same experience as you with menopause, it´s like the body got a new set of rules to process food, no fun at all. But, you can make a lot of good fika without sugar and white flour, wich atleast has made a big difference to us. Have a fine week. Tina & Mr.C

We much like you recycle and have a simple slower life, and saved a fortune. My Dave loves his lathe and anything wood. Like Mr C can make and repair practically anything. The Weather is very scary at the Moment. So much rain and thunder storms. I am not a heat lover so pacing myself is very important. When you have retired and time to think you make do and mend. Dear Tina and Mr C! Good morning 🤩sitting here with my porridge and cup of coffee and watching your wonderful video and I am so glad you spoke about climate change today because it , as you probably remember, hit us very hard here in southwest Germany with the flood last week. It also concerns me very much and we still are looking for craftsmen to solve our problem with the water damage in our cellar….yes, we are trying everything to protect nature here in our family, recycle, take the train, buy local products etc….and I saw on the weather forecast that Sweden has real heatwave, as you already mentioned, very unusual for may…climate change makes me sad, but we must live with it and do our part to prevent more damages. Of course, as we all know, the big industries are in full responsibility, I hope, we are able not to make it worse…. But anyway, to something positive, I love your garden and your husband is so talented building such lovely things🤗mostly I also search the shade because of my chronical diseases and I have a lovely bench in my garden….love your hanging chair, it looks comfortable!🙋♀️have a nice sunday, today we will also have sun!! Hi Iris Glad to hear the raining has stopped, at least for now. Hope you get some drier weather now. Finding craftsmen can be hard in times like this, hope you will get help. We felt we had to touch the subject of the climate since it so clearly is affecting us, especially when you have a garden and spend a lot of time outdoors over the years you cant ignore it. Its worrying, but as you say we must do what we can to handle it and live as good as we can anyway. Hugs from Tina & Mr.C
