I first saw Blue Meanies for $5 at Lucy's in Nashville in 1996. I was 16 and had just moved from Vegas. My new girlfriend said there was "a good ska band playing" and needless to say, they blew my mind. Later I moved to Cincinnati and saw them at Bogart's a couple times too. They're one of my favorite bands to see live cause there is so much going on and they're all so talented. I'd love to see them live one more time.

@42:21 I didn't remember that was how they got signed! So cool to hear. I do remember being so excited by their demo that I'd get a bunch on consignment and carry them around & sell them at shows around Florida. Also the Reversal of Man demo. That started me having a distro where I'd sell records at shows, which led to putting out a compilation CD and starting a record label (Boxcar Records). A lot of fun times. Much love.
