Bang on! Plus the litter everywhere is a big put off - authorities must take charge of keeping tourist places clean, locals must be mindful when they set up camps and stalls to not leave the litter behind and tourists of course have to travel responsibly.

The las vegas sign is the most useless spot. I have been to vegas 6 times. Never gone to that spot.

Kashmir is worst place to visit, I have had worst experience during Kashmir tour, I was doing solo tour, my god men- boys were too pathetic I had fight with wo time clearly I said "khud ki dhak ke rakhte ho or dusro ke beti pr line marte ho" jara bhi sharam nahi has rahe the, itna mitha baat karenge or loot lenge aapko, they hate our defence forces like anything, Kashmiri muslims logo ko vaha Hindu nahi chahiye pr unse milne wala paisa barabar chahiye, ye aise scam karte time inhe KHUDA ka khauf nahi rehta kya ab KHUDA nahi dekhta kya inhe, main to hate karti hu kashmir or vaha ke logo se itna worst experience hai mera sub ke sub chor, scammers or molesters hai, akeli ladki ko pura uper se niche tak scan karenge, ghode pr bithane ke time chance marenge maine to ek ko gulmarg main khich ke kaan ke niche dia bhi hai, worst hai vaha ke log bina matlab ke koi kaam nahi karnege kyu ki they belong to faceless thing

Recently, I have visited 3 places and faced cheating and harrasment. 1. Gulmarg: Horse hiring agent follow till tourist office-2 KM and forced to hire horse at very high price. i visited gulmarg first time. No police were seen at this highly crowded tourist place. Then, the government golf club cafeteria charged us 50/- Rs for using urinal once.. 2. Sonmarg: The driver person will park his car at fixed taxi stand. You have to forcefully hire horse at high price from the agent at this taxi stand. Driver will get commission from the agent. 3. Doodhpatri: we have hired taxi from srinagar to doodhpatri at Rs. 2800/- for approx 60 km. The taxi person will charge additional 1000/- Rs. from taxi stand to river Approx 3Km. Sales Person: At every place the sales person (Shawl/ dryfruit/ cherry/ etc.) follow you and forced you to purchase the things at very high price with worst quality items. Hotel: The person at hotels switched off the gyser frequently. the charge of hotels are very high with worst facility. You may also followed the person at TRC busstand for hiring rooms. Shikara: Charge is very high and the site seen is not attractive. They will not take you at good place in Dal lake like char chinar.. Taxi driver: They will take you at specified hotel and dryfruit shops having high price. they take commission from them. Tips to avoid the cheating and harrasement: 1. Don't buy any thing from the site seeing place. You may buy things from Lal chowk market and Dal lake night market. 2. Dont hire horse immediatly. Walk out from parking/ Horse agent at least 1 km or till 1hr. 3. Initially, Ask taxi driver to take you upto the end of site road with no extra charges. 4. Never take halt at driver suggested place. 5. Dont hire hotel from Bus stand. Go to rajbaugh or dal gate and Physically visit the hotel. 6. At every place ask the half price for they asked. 7. Approx rate: Hotel 1500/- Delux room, 7 seater car 2500/- per place/day, Horse 600-1000/- Rs. The Kashmir is very Beautiful. you must visit the place. but take precaution.

The details on your experiences during the beautiful Kashmir trip will help others to be cautious. I, too, traveled to all these places. The rates are higher by all standards. What I feel is that we should look in a different way when we travel to the Kashmir Valley as compared to our travel to other tourist places in India. Here, the youth are just coming out of terrorist grip and slowly integrating with the mainstream. Most of the people we encounter during tourism, like taxi drivers, poni drivers, dolies etc, here are uneducated youth, with a lot of energy. They get some money to support the lively hood for their families and this tourism will be there only for a few months in a year. The rest of the time in the year, they need to fall back on their savings and nothing else. All Indians from the rest of the places may need to support them so that they will not be swayed away by terrorist and anti national groups there. They also experience what are the benefits of peaceful and comfortable life. That doesn't mean we should fall prey to looters. We can be little more cautious as well as generous there, as was the case with this vedio maker, who looks very generous from his talk. The only thing is that he got irritated with some pestering people. Such kind of people will always be there and we should be cautious. Atleast another 5 years to come, this tourism industry here should flourish so that the people there will understand the benefits of hosting tourists from all over India and maintaining a peaceful atmosphere in attracting the tourists, by which time the integration will be total. Education flourishes. Exploitation comes down, and understanding increases from all sides. Pardon if any mistakes are there in my thinking process.
