Dear commentors please be more considerate, Frank Richard Trejo was born in Bakersfield, CA on December 24, 1952. He passed away on April 11, 2018 at the age of 65. He was loved by so many around the world and close to home. Frank Trejo was a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, friend and Grand Master of the martial arts Kenpo Karate. Frank loved being able to teach his craft and wisdom around the globe. In the last few years, his health started to diminish which sadly caused him to have multiple amputations. Nonetheless, it didn't stop him from doing what he loved most, teaching. Frank had a big heart and a lot of love for life, always knowing how to have a good time and enjoying the moment. His great big smile and laughter will truly be missed. Consider this if you are a student of Kenpo, your instructors and the instructors who taught them were all very respectful to Frank Trejo, at least in his face which is all that matters as talking behind his back would be a coward's way. So, if your own instructors knew enough about this man to respect his accomplishments and knowledge maybe you should not be jumping to conclusions when looking at footage of him well past his prime

People here should be ashamed of their insults towards Master Trejo RIP. He was great in his day before disease and poor fortune changed his life. He was a wonderful caring teacher and practitioner of his art. Kenpo was designed to be a self defense oriented art, not a fighting offensive art. That is up to the individual to do as they choose. Millions of people have benefitted from kenpo.
