My family has so much history from Republic of Panama dating back to the 60’s-89. At one point in Los Rios both of my uncles worked at the canal. My uncle Marvin was a port captain and uncle Ralph also worked directly at the canal. All 6 of us grew up in PTY and my son and brother Howard were both born at Gorgas HSP. I wish I could tell my father Ronnie Ward just how grateful I am to him for taking us on this amazing journey to Panama as I would not be who I am today. Thank you Daddy❤! This song 🎶 🎵 Alex embodies everything that was just so good and sweet from our childhood living in the zone. Not to mention how wonderful it is to me to actually have a song only us Zonians completely understand. Gosh I so miss those times and if I shut my eyes a minute and think I can still feel and remember walking home from school in Los Rios and watching my Mom sit on the front porch while she waits for me to get home. Best experience in my own opinion a child/family could ever even dream of. Alex thank you for this beautiful gift!

You hit it on the nose. We Zonians still relive our time in Panama. I always tell people it was the best childhood anyone can experience. Even though I was living on the Atlantic side (Best side), I also spent two years in Junior College living in La Boca, partying at the Balboa Yacht club, or the spinning club or heading up to Pal Mar or Rio Mar surfing. What a life. Perfect weather all year long. People here in the states do not understand how special we Zonians had it, but that is ok as we have many stories to tell. Even though my wife and I used to visit, that life is cone forever. Thanks for the video and trying to make people understand how we live in that golden era.

Lived in Gamboa and Ft Clayton from 76-79. My day worked at Balboa/ROTC instructor. Great memories there and will never forget.

I lived in Panama 83-86 and 87-90 went to Cristobal High School. Played Football and baseball.....love Panama 🇵🇦.

I was only there for a few years in the id-90's and worked with enough Zonians to realize I was born too late and in the wrong place, to fully understand, but I enjoyed my time and Shorty & Slim's music long enough to understand.

I know what you are saying and consider I grew up there, 1954 - 59 and 62 - 65 when I graduated from BHS. But you are talking about the Canal Zone life, not Panamanian. Was back many times 2006 - 2016 volunteering with Spay Panama, over 227,000 dogs and cats sterilized from 2001 through Spring 2021. Buildings and roads and Canal are there but in Panama and not lived as a Zonian way.

Thanks for loving our country in such spacial way, please feel wellcome at anytime. I currently work at Clayton and live in Curundu. All the territories that use to be part of the Canal Zone still have a wonderfull vibe, it's like the joy lived by who used to be there stayed encapsulated in air.🙏🏾🇵🇦❤

I Just came across this video but I lied it immediately.. Im PANAMANIAN so I understand what you mean... Despite I lived in Europe for more than 17 years I always remembered the smell of wet soil and the good times of my childhood.. Now Im back home and can tell Panamá is Paradise..

Great memories in Fort Clayton Canal Zone went to Fort Clayton Elementary and Curundu Jr High ....Played Football for the Clayton Cowboys when Bob Hayes came down for a visit to the team 1973-1976 . One of the best places and most fun to grow up as a teen . Anybody stationed their at that time would luv to hook up and chat

I lived in Panama from 84-87, and loved EVERY moment. Some of the best days of my life were spent there, as a child!

Frosty BY HIMSELF hosted the show, and took calls, the day Kobe died. Heidi could NOT have done that. Heidi should have been the one to go, since she brings the least to the show, but then we all know it was really never about money.

The handle of the van covering Frosty’s face always makes me laugh. I don’t listen to the station anymore and have stopped patronizing it’s advertisers. It’s not much, but it’s the only way I know how get back at them for getting rid of my favorite all time radio personality. Heidi and Frank have responsibility in this, too. I’m still convinced it was Frosty and Frank’s arguing, for real, not money that caused Frosty’s demise. I hate them.

Dang...It's like he died! That made me so sad!!! I will miss Frosty SO SO MUCH! It's just not fair when someone else tells you that you cannot be a team anymore! That REALLY SUCKS! i feel bad for all of them. Because it was out of their control. And they have been together for SO LONG! Especially Frank and Frosty. Not to happy with KLOS management right now. But I can only wish Frosty the BEST OF LUCK! And know that I will ALWAYS be a LIFE LONG Fan! I cannot tell you how much joy and laughter Frosty has brought me...I do hope that I will be able to listen to him again someday. And I am REALLY upset that he never told the "Spash Splash Splash...." story again!!!! That was the BEST STORY EVER!! And now I will never hear it again (unless I find the replay) I guess I will just have to be happy to remember the GREATEST STORY EVER TOLD! I love you Frosty!
