W.U.R.L. - Wasatch Ultmate Ridge Linkup in HD
zhlédnutí 47Před 21 dnem
W.U.R.L. stands for 'Wasatch Ultimate Ridge Linkup". The WURL is not a trail - rather, it is simply a very challenging route that circles Little Cottonwood Canyon. A great website to exlopre the details of this route can be found here: runuphill.wordpress.com/2015/08/23/wasatch-ultimate-ridge-linkup-wurl/ Note: Because the route shown in my video does not always follow a trail, it cannot be use...

Thank you! 😊
What a clip Bro. You rock
Excellent video which reminds me of the details of this famous trail from a unique perspective. Thank You !!!
Thank you 😊 I’m subscribed to thru hikers doing the PCT and a few of them just climbed Mt Whitney so this was great!
i LOVE this kind of Overview 3-d map for clarity of general physical terrain. Thank you !
Music used is very nice...and I enjoy it....thanks for showing my country
Really appreciate....
The Great Himalayan Countries Nepal, India, China, Pakistan, Bhutan
Good to see you are describing the Heights in meters, but you are using the symbol for feet units.
Thanks for the feedback. When I made this video, I honestly didn't know that ' only referred to feet. I assumed it stood for general unit. My latest videos of non-US have both units so all viewers can enjoy the views. I just posted a video of the 25 Highest Summits in India and the dual units look good.
This is a video on the 14 peaks in the world that are higher than 8000 m, and yet you show all the heights in feet. That makes no sense. Everyone in the world knows the heights of these mountains in meters.
So where is Noshaq from Afghanistan ?
Kanchenjunga looks the most beautiful according to me.
I’m doing it this year!!!
8 peaks in nepal,ok🇳🇵🌍💖👍
Por favor coloque a altura em metros também. Afinal 98% do resto do mundo usa o sistema decimal.
Thank you 😊 I love the mountains!
Thank you! Love these videos 😊 My favorite is the 8000 peaks ❤
Awesome
It's funny how Mt Shasta and Lassen Peak are both county high points, but neither are in their respectively named counties.
This is awesome!
Thank you so much for making these videos! The music choice makes it more dramatic especially on the 8,000er’s! 😊
Bro Are The Rankings Supposed to be in order if not then that's weird💀💀
I didn't do them in order because the distance from Mount Everest to K2 and back to Kanchenjunga is over 1700 miles. On my visualization the entire journey is just over a 1000 miles.
@@highpointtrails3433 Oh
Dislike for rubbish feet etc...👎👎👎
Thanks for the comment. As an American who uses both the metric and imperial systems every day, I am fascinated by the amount of vitriol I get for using feet in my videos. Were you born and raised in America, as I was, it is 100% certain that you would also use feet, meters, yards, inches, centimeters, miles, kilometers, and lots of other types of measurements every day and you would not think any of them are rubbish.
Wow, great work.
This is super cool, all the work you put in is incredible. can you do a trail in Michigan? that would be sweet to see!
Yes I can. Which trail in Michigan would you like me to do?
What do the blinking circles indicate?
Blinking circles are things other than peaks. All the summits have the icon while all the other features have a circle that is sized according to the feature size.
Nice video. Thank you for sharing.
India is covered with all these at its top
This is awesome! Great work and very inspiring. I got the first 105 miles in last autumn and hoping to finish this summer.
Thank you for making this video. I hiked the Colorado Trail via Collegiate West. I would love for you to make a video of that! This brought bake a lot of memories. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment. I've got the Collegiate West on my list. Once i finish the Arizona Trail and the PCT, that will be next.
Collegiate West is all done
Wow. This is fantastic! Thanks!
Exceptional!
Hell yes!!! 🎉
phenomenal!!! brought tears to my eyes ❤❤
Why are the heights in feet? Only USians use the foot.
I made the video with feet because, at the time, I was making it for myself because I like mountains so much. I had no idea so many people from out of the US would view the video. Here in the US, we primarily use feet, but we also use the metric system for lots of things.
Would love to complete this trail one day. Fitness must be good
I have always had a fascination with the 8000m mountains. Thanks for helping me put their locations in perspective in my mind. I thoroughly enjoyed your video.
All of these mountains sit on a high plateau. I'd be interested in knowing the highest mountains from the base. I suspect mountains such as Denali in Alaska or Logan in Yukon or perhaps some in South America are higher.
prob Mauna Kea in Hawaii
@@yeetoburrito definitely, although I was thinking in terms of mountains that can be climbed
@yeetoburrito point of interest. The peak of Mt St Elias is 11 miles from the Pacific ocean and is 18,009 ft high
Chimborazo in Ecuador near the equator gives it the appearance of being taller than Everest. It’s 20,548 ft. It’s uniquely situated.
@@traveloasis8389 Chimborazo is 8,202 ft base to peak, Denali is 18,000 ft base to peak
I think this is the best Google Earth overview I’ve seen of the JMT, and I’ve seen a few. I have a permit to hike the JMT in August, and this helps me actually see the grades of climbs, etc, that Im looking at in the different sections. Well done.
Thanks for feedback. Stay tuned for the Whitney to Yosemite JMT video in the next few days.
@@highpointtrails3433 Great! My permit is for Nobo.
Great overview of the JMT Michael. Excellent presentation!
Not an easy trail.
None of these mountains are in the US. the audacity to use the us system.. and the music is fucking terrible
Thanks for the feedback
I am Climbing Mt. Everest in May of 2025. I will start training in October of 2024 by climbing a six-foot ladder in my garage.
Hell of a lot easier to go the other way. Onion Valley to Road’s End. 2000-foot climb and 6000-foot descent, rather than the other way. Also, no matter which way you go, it is DEFINITELY worth it to take a couple of extra days to make a side trip from Junction Meadow to East Lake and Lake Reflection. Reflection is definitely one of the most beautiful lakes in the High Sierra, and East is not far behind. You do not have to go all the way to Lake Reflection with your big pack; just hike up to East Lake (2/3 of the way), where there are great campsites. Then hike up to Lake Reflection on a day hike from East Lake. Lake Reflection is well-named, and it has great fishing and great swimming, incredible views of the awesome Kings-Kern Divide!!
It's for an American audience,fools.
Fantastic, great job! I've seen all 8 of the Nepali 8000 meter peaks 🙂
Veikka Gustafsson from 🇫🇮 have conquered ALL these over 8000 m peaks, and without extra oxigen. One of the few 8. 👍. In Finland the highest peak is 1300 m. Haha.
Also the Nepalese mountaineer, Nirmal Purja scaled all 14 within 7 mos. Several he did back to back. He lived for the making of the Netflix documentary “14 Peaks”.
Wtf put the size on feet 😂😂😂😂😂
Amazing Pakistan ❤
