Fishing Channel by two Brothers that love fishing, Ben and Tyler. Fish mainly through Kayaks but also fish from land based or boats. Mainly fish within Westernport and East Gippsland in Victoria Australia.
Fishing in a Mangrove Creek!
In this video I take the kayak into the mangroves with some lures to see what species we can find. Whilst out there it turns into a game of hide and seek with the fish with large schools moving around the creek.

In this video I head out into Gippsland Lakes with a local feral, Brett Geddes. Using hard body lures such as the OSP dunk and Daiwa Infeet Spike twitched on the edge to get a bite. Later I try out the Outback Breamer Baits Muss on shallow edges and get surprising results.

Fishing Mallacoota Edges

In this video we head to Mallacoota and use lightly weighted Hurricane Sprats on the edges to catch fish out of the kayak. Some would even say it caused a fish frenzy when in reality it caught some nice fish in a likely fish location where many other types of lures would also have caught fish.

Are you running the GoPro 360 for the intro vid or another brand? Time to get that daiwa serviced at the end there! Might help stop any failures too as it’ll be a tad smoother. I just had all mine done while the boats been locked away for a month 😅 $40 for piece of mind

@@ChasingFish I haven’t targeted them in years! Water temp is sitting on approximately 13 degrees in the harbour. It is slow as but still a few quality fish about. Looking forward till Summer!

I have a kayak also, it’s a fishing one but I don’t have the peddles. When i try to bring a fish in, it feels like I’m going to tip. What brand kayak do you have?
@@imsupercereal I had a paddle kayak to start with and definitely isn't as stable when landed fish but usually had no troubles. Currently have a Hobie compass but I bought it years and years ago now. They are a lot more expensive these days unfortunately but do make a big difference

Condition looks great! I used to be an avid surf fisherman and I must say, there’s something soo special about fishing on the sand with not a soul in sight. Good stuff as always 🔥

Theres some fantastic land based fishing if you go over to mahers landing boat ramp, can get some good pinkies, trevallies, and flathead as well as elephants and gummies with the chance of a mulloway. Personally I've only ever gotten flathead gummies and pinkies, but you never know!

Is this the 2023 compass.. I just got one, but my seat is completely diff.. it the bars that lock in to the base of the compass, and I'm trying to figure out a mod to lift it up, it's so damn low. But everything I see is coming from diff kayaks or earlier models
@@SpregioCheeks yeah unfortunately they have changed the design. This was one of the earlier models so has the different seat

Great stuff Ben ! Brett is a legend ! What hards were you guys throwing at them ? Noticed you were twitch them with the rod tip rather than down was that be because you were fishing shallow snaggy water ?
We were using OSP Dunks and also Daiwa Spikes. The spike 44MR doing the best. And yes twitching up since it's rather snaggy but the big bib on those lures also helps get over timber.

One like this about 10km all up. But that doesn't count the constant paddling against tide to keep in the same spot. But also if you go with the tide/wind to get to spots makes it much easier.

what gekka model are you using? 74UL-S? if so do you like it for bents and other small surface lures?
It is a MX 78MM I got it years ago though. Love it for a whole range of lures, I like the solid tip for pulling the bent minnows under the surface but other rods still work. Can also cast surface lures a long way with the extra length to most standard rods.

How do the melosi's cast mate?
Pretty good, pretty similar to other minnow shaped hard bodies, I was definitely getting some good distance with 10lb leader and 12lb braid, so no complaints in how they cast in my opinion
