I had finally found my leak and it was this very same thing....but why? other than sloppy fit, it popped out because angle of grommet turned side ways(almost horizontal). So make sure to check orientation of the grommet to make sure it is pointing upward towards angle of the respective hose that is going into it. I wanted to further investigate this leak and the trunk tube AFTER I had solved my problem and found your video. I will probably order 2 new grommets for each side since rubber wears out over time (and tube connection is very loose there)and either zip tie the hose connections for now or put a piece of shrink tubing on them. More importantly though is to make sure the grommet sits tight and does not rotate ( might have to remove it to clean mating area)Thanks for sharing!

2010 Camaro here, same issue, though the tube won't reach to that other tube, it's too short, can't stretch it or pull more out to make it longer, any suggestions?

Thank you so much for this video. After arriving to my sons baseball game and removing a blanket I kept in the trunk did I discover the leak. The blanket was so wet it was incredible, anyway I found this video and boom fixed it myself. Now I need to clean the carpet in my trunk.

Had this problem in my 2012 Camaro RS. I plugged the drain tube back into the rubber pass through and after about two months I had a water leak again. Covered the outside of tube in caulk, plugged the drain in a second time, sealed with more caulk, let dry, and added tape for extra sealing and strength. I would recommend this solution to anyone with this problem. You can try plugging it back in, but your trunk may be leaking again in a few months.

Video was not useless for me. It confirmed that the X4 can disable DOD, which is the main reason I bought it. From comments I have read online, apparently the earlier X3 could not disable DOD without a custom tune.

Hey A. Thanks for posting an install here on CZcams. I hope you can update the title as our company name is "Arkon", not "Akron". Also, I'm glad you were able to switch the mounting arm so that it could go the other direction. Lastly, it does look like you installed it with the suction already depressed down. You'll get even better results by lifting up the lever and then pressing the suction against the surface. Then, push down on the lever to activate the incredibly strong suction.
