Mmmmmm….. this is FUNNY! People, labels are NOT BROKE! The title of this video is misleading. But hey, it worked. I watched it 😂. But for someone that is actually “in” this business, labels are far from broke. And when I say labels, I am not referring to the small wanna be make believe independent labels. I’m talking about true “labels”, with marketing, promotions, budget, art department, etc etc etc….. Labels aren’t going anywhere and if you are an artist and a hustler I would highly suggest that you try to get signed to one on your terms. You would be a fool not too, if and I mean IF you have the talent and the hustle. And because of where the industry is today, labels are looking for REAL talent today. Don’t be fooled into believing signing to a label is a bad thing. There are bad deals, but there are the right deals also, if you have the talent.

Hey Mr. Graham, if I was a cowriter on a song and the artist did not have a publisher but I have an LLC. Do I register the copyright on copyright.gov and include both of us as authors. Then use their writers account IPI # and mine to register us as cowriters on the song through my selected PRO? Is there anything else I would need to do in order to properly administer the copyright?

I feel you & agree with most of what's presented, but have had real life experience for many years of people vibing with my music who are not in my age range. It's challenging to navigate with what I know to be true vs this industry standard stuff purposely created by a fucked up music industry that believes in division. A ad department exec will tell the amateur execs promotion costs $30k and they’ll get loans to make their subsidiary accounts bigger but they don’t get that when a ceo is focused on buying cars and Gucci instead of running ads on the music, then they go too in the negative. When they want to record in ssl and neve consoles instead of a home studio and trying to keep up the image of others, they go broke

They are. I was on one for 5 minutes. I learned what they do. All they do is do is do a jv with a bank for millions of dollars then they sign 1000 Artist for $15,000 contracts. The major labels. Then they recoup it but when they give the accounts to subsidiary owners who aren’t knowledgeable with advertising, then those are the labels that go under because those execs don’t understand expenses correctly
