This week, I started another gift for my daughter. Halfway through the week, I realized I had family coming to visit for a few days. For the past three years, I've helped my wife's cousin make a few Christmas gifts. So my gift project was paused and we knocked out a bunch of stuff for him to give. Helping other people in my shop is something I always enjoy. This was a fun week. What do you have...

Hey Jay Bates, amazing video on the ProPride 3P® Hitch! We’d like to use it in a review ad and give you full credit. Let us know if you’re up for it. Thanks!
Great shop tour video. I like the carabiner on the bandsaw blade. Great visual reminder that there’s a blade there.
According to the operation manual it is 400kg (881 pounds) including packaging (shipping pallet) and 295kg for the machine itself (650 pounds)
Is it fair to compare towing experiences when you changed from a 150 too a 250? I think the truck makes a case for improved control with any hitch system.. interested in your response to the ?
Your presentation is very well done. great explanations for the seasoned and not so seasoned trailer owner.. What do you do for work.. are you in education? CUDO's to you
Where can I buy one?
Hey Jay I'm bout to build a new work bench for hand tool woodwork, I noticed ur don't have any casters on those work benches, I got some 3 " casters all with foot breaks, do u recommend leaving em off ?THANX FOR UR VIDEOS !!!!!
The latest batch of machine gets a few upgrades. A better support system for the fence. A six row cutter head instead of four with more cutters. And for 12” single phase, a 5 HP motor from TW instead of 3HP Baldor motor. Lastly, a lock for the infeed table. I agree about the DRO. It can be useful for cutting rabbets but otherwise more convenient to use the mechanical gauge. Would love to see it come with self leveling casters like the newest Oliver heavy duty table saw.
Thank you for this video. Extremely helpful.
1st time ive watched your site Great video I have a blue ox now and I have been dealing with trl sway and have been watching videos on propride 3p can't wait for your follow up video please add some time on the disconnect process
I am convinced that this hitch not only has prevented probably four complete disasters. It probably has saved my wife and my life. We have a 33 foot we were towing with a 2012 Ford expedition completely within our weight range. White knuckle every trip. Went up to a Dodge three-quarter ton four-wheel-drive diesel. Coming home on our last trip we almost wiped out between the wind coming off of tractor trailer and across wind. the hitch totally saved us. Best $3500 I have ever spent in my life and after using it would spend twice as much.
Just had a piece do this on me
I glad you had a good result with that blade. It sounds like a good design. But I have had a BAD experience with laguna and that blade. I bought one 155" blade and the weld was so bad that the blade almost jumped out of the support bearings. They quickly sent me a replacement and it was just as bad. And after that they quick answering my emails. I took the blade to a local saw shop and they could not fix the problem. I decided I'm too old to be wasting my time getting this corrected. I am taking the loss. I also have a Hitachi resaw bandsaw with a 3" wide blade that tracks well. My local equipment shop was also sending back a poorly welded resaw king blade. So just be careful dealing with laguna.
Very cool and great job!
Thank you for such a straight forward explanation!
Really great video
would a 42" be overkill? any pros and cons of 42" vs 30"?
Do you feel the four filters were excessive? Any other changes you might make if you were doing it over again?
You didn’t need a mask indoors and a couple people. Hard to understand you.
the amazing thing about this video is the detroit red wings in the back
What can you do if you don't have the additional hight for the the roller system to make it land even with the above floor? Great video! Thanks!
Super neat video! Thanks for posting! From Amarillo Texas!
I like the paint idea. I currently have 2 trailers temporarily. The 25’ has a Hensley and the 33’ came with the Propride. Both are great but each needs to be dialed in to work. I also believe that unless the trailer and tow vehicle are perfectly level and straight they are both a PITA to hitch up. By far the easiest to hitch is without a doubt a simple ball and coupler. But it offers no weight distribution or sway control.
Thank you so much for this. I recently built your WorkHorse and am quite happy with it, but looking to do version 2 with traditional workholding and a slightly lower top to make planing easier for me, and seeing this helped me decide what materials to use :)
I have a Makita and 2 oem pullies do not fit shelix shaft and depth of keyway is not correct and key does not fit. I brought to attention during warranty and manufacturer will not fix.
Jay, I know this is 2 years old but would you mind sharing the approximate square footage the “shop” occupies. The camera lens sometimes makes it hard to judge. Your assembly table looks to be 10’ long.
you did not compare apples to apples, you compered a two in one machine with vs separate machines from other brands as if they dont have a combo unit for less ? they DO!!!!!!
My pro pride 3p makes popping noises now and then. Don't know if this is normal or not.
This pit must chomp through wood so quickly.
Very Nice presentation, in a few mo I may be getting camper about the same size as your, I have a 250 ford. But I really don't think that will make a difference in your presentation. I will look into the 3P, I think I might have seen a few of your wood working videos, I do wood working as well. Good luck camping.
I’ve been using this blade forever. And you’re right. It’s a fantastic blade. Unfortunately, Laguna is no longer sharpening the resaw king. Given its cost I don’t think it has the same value as it once did. Given that it cannot be resharpened. What do you think?
I’ve been using the resaw king for years and you’re right, it’s a fantastic blade. Unfortunately, Laguna is no longer sharpening this blade. They told me that their equipment is too old and out of tune. In my opinion this blade is no longer worth the costs given that it cannot be re-sharpened. What are your thoughts?
I have the Timberwolf 1” carbide resale blade. I think I’ve had it for 15 + years and it’s still going strong. So… did you get your old bandsaw back? 😊
Another Great Video, Why not just spin the machine around and feed stock from the other side, Handle on the back?
I’m in a similar situation so hoping it works for you!
I received mine a few weeks ago. It’s a three phase machine. My workshop powers is single phase. I need help how I can run the machine
Just setting up my straight rip cut bandsaw today. Have already started looking for a used bandsaw that can be dedicated to curve cuts. I get it.
Reese strait line has always been my favorite. Read all directions before making your video. Learn also how to get out of a sway or jackknife situation with acceleration and manually braking the trailer.
Could you please clarify your tip and point us towards more info on that? It makes a lot of sense and could save my family's life as we travel all over this country. Thank you
Yes 5 year old vid share .......in SA wood is not really valued some ball and claw furniture is sought after but wood working tools are extremely expensive and modern woodworking pieces are few and far between price wise ........wood has no value.......solid wood makes no difference to the ikea flat pack self assembly price saving hand tools are a good trade but more historical quality and history to the buyer
Love that you still have both
Like to know more about cutting aluminum such as depth of cut
Great video Jay! I had a Grizzly 1023 saw and for the money, a great saw. It was an upgrade from my first saw, a Grizzly 1 1/2 hp contractor saw which did everything I needed. I purchased the same Sawstop, but with the 36 Fence. The safety aspect is what sold me even though it cost an extra two thousand. Having a close call with my table saw and the thought of missing digits and surgeries if you’re lucky, made my decision easy. Good luck with your channel and I enjoy watching your videos.
Push stick/block I use has a board wide enough to make it impossible to tip left and right. The one you showed is awesome but jointers scare the hell out of me after three CZcamsrs got rid of theirs after accidents. I copied the design off Michael Fortune’s jointer push blocks. Bright orange hanging next to his jointer in a shop tour video.
what happend with the Hammer
I bought a wixey for my dewalt planer and it doesn't auto shut off. the batteries would be dead after one day using it and then when I changed them I had to recalibrate it. It ended up taking more time than it was to just skip using it.
At least the Jet drum sander model numbers make sense i.e. 1632, 2244, etc.
It's never a bad idea to get a home air filtration system.
I hate the fence design on my Grizzly G0490X 8in jointer. (think you had the same one) What genius came up with the idea that a single adjustment lever releases TWO pivot points?!? It was a nightmare trying to lock that thing into 90º .... so much so that I drilled and tapped for a grub screw to tightly lock the irrelevant pivot in place. Works great now and I can even slide the fence forward and back and it stays true. But yeah, companies need to ditch the idea cutting chamfers and angles with a jointer. Hope the move is progressing smoothly.
For that the Northfield fence is much better.
I see two things wrong with this video... the machine is just toooo big for my shop and you just gave me the worst case of tool envy ever. LOL great video!
