Musky are my addiction, an affliction. Some stories are legend, some a myth that are fiction. They are my prescription My depiction. Of everything worth going on about.
Damn straight!
Sweet video. You guys made all the right points. It’s a lifestyle!
Thanks a lot, definitely is a lifestyle!
Can you do a video on how side view and forward facing sonars are changing Musky fishing and pressuring this great fishery?
Interesting for sure. Things in the works on that actually so stick around. Will most likely post over winter because I’d like to see how the rest of the season goes in the imaging world.
Save some ducklings-EAT MUSKIES!!!
They definitely eat a bird or two!
Nice advert for SIMMS. Brilliant.
Haven’t received a dime from them, unfortunately. Just great products we prefer.
Hello my name is Jeff. And I am a musky addict...😂
First steps and welcome Jeff everybody!
Love it Great video 👍🎣Bob strand said it Best ! 🇺🇸
Happy you liked it and Bobs part as well. Thank you!
I've watched a lot of musky fishing videos, and made some very basic ones. This is intense, genuine, thought provoking, and insanely stimulating! The videography alone is awesome!! The story board is extremely well done, the people are genuine and not over the top. Plus, this video does a great job of encapsulating all the nuance stuff that involves musky fishing. It's an obsession! For most of us it's consumes us! Awesome job, well done!!! 👍👍
Hey, we really appreciate that and you definitely get what we were trying to capture and portray. It is a grind and definitely not for everyone but for us that chase them and let it consume us this is our takeaway with a fish in the net and some great memories we will always remember. And, to get this on film adds a whole other element to it! Thanks for the appreciation!
Loved it. The Bob Strand interviews were GOLD! Him getting emotional at the end... as a biologist myself I really appreciated seeing that and I hope others do to.
Thank you for the comment and we agree. It was great to get to know him and find out how obsessed he is with these fish, from conservation to the pursuit of the species. We have quite a bit more from him on the conservation part that we will most likely use in the next film we will be doing in the fall. After watching this so many times through the edits I can’t help but wonder if his dog has any hair left on his ears as he nervously scratches tugs on them! Was a real treat and thanks again!
@@Fishcamp Ha! I noticed him petting his dog. Loved that little detail too. Will look forward to Part 2
Awesome video, Jody. Great shots and the absolute truth. Nice work!
Hey man, we really appreciate that and thank you!
There is nothing better than musky fishing.
It is an addiction and can definitely wreck credit scores!
Loved this vid! Doug can get on’em!
Jordan didn't quit after 1 championship.... love it
Matt speaking the truth after he thought the interview was over. Pure gold and a mic drop!
Great Job James and Jody, I really enjoyed this one. Photog, and film was wonderful.Great images and color, Interviews were pertinent and genuine. Congrats to your success on this.
Thanks Marty, definitely happy with how this came together!
Best and most relatable video I have ever watched. Very well done
We really do appreciate that Anthony and happy you relate to it!
I am sorry, but this is the same concept of every fishing documentary nowadays. A lot of interviews, staged plot, trying to make it more important than it actually is. No critique on this film specifically, but these docs in general.
Well, maybe we don’t watch enough CZcams but we’ve never seen anything in fishing close to this. Biased of course but…..
Great video !!
Thanks a lot!
Great stuff!
Thanks a lot guys and the next one will have your product in it!
Awesome video, and we get to do it all over in just a few days! Can’t wait!!
Looking forward to it buddy!
Your videos are excellent! Very professionally made. This is the only video of this type on CZcams. I painted a pine coffee table all red. Unfortunately I painted it in semi gloss latex. I want to add more dimension to the top and have a more rustic look so will try your technique. I’m concerned the semi gloss is too slick to take the glaze like your cabinets. Can you recommend how I can achieve the look despite the semi gloss? I was thinking about giving the whole top a light sand.
Love it and great to hear. You will be fine with semi gloss, the only hang up is when you go to sand it it will ball up and clog the paper. No problem with the glaze adhering. Same technique and outcome. Good luck and enjoy it!
Well deserved!! Congratulations
Really appreciate that! Looking forward to this fall, lots happening!
To Not let the ANGLER hold their PB Fish--whatever the size is so Inappropriate--- I mean come on !! These Guys Pay you the asking Price and Most likely a TIP--and you can't even let them Hold their fish for a Picture or 2--- Just Insane in my Book. I get the whole release it quickly and safe thing---But that fish should have been held by the Angler who caught it with the Guide Holding the Tail---Not the other way around.
Look at the previous responses.
That's not just a great morning... looks like an un-toppable morning.
Yeah this was a good one, thanks!
Love the audio tone change, timed during and after the underwater shot of the pike! Awesome reel!
Thanks a lot Dan, really appreciate it!
Listening to the sound of the water moving by is just so beautiful. My first time in Montana June - July 1994 and I loved it…all thanks to Ms. Michelle NTC Rotation 94-04 Ft. Irwin CA.
It’s still one of our favorite rivers and was just there this past weekend. Lots of fish spawning
Can you do this over Sherwin Williams Emerald urethane trim enamel paint in satin?
Definitely but we tend to like matte over satin because it doesn’t ball up as you sand it. It works just not as “dry” as matte. Again, just make samples and know what you’re getting into before committing.
@@Fishcamp Ok I may not be sanding down to the wood anyways because I used a bonding primer and its almost impossible to sand thru it LOL . Whats the best product to use for the glaze? I tried Varathane gel stain on my samples and altho it worked fine, ir seems to get a bit sticky. Is there a water based product that may work better? Thank you!!
I love love love the red !! Do you have any new video's? Is there a way to contact you, I have some ?s
We are actually working on a couple to release soon and that red is so tough to beat. I was at the home yesterday and so many detail shots and asked the owners if I could come back and photograph again so stay tune. Check out our website and click contact. www.fishcampco.com
Congrats. Johny B was there w/ u.
Was most definitely there with me. He was actually there when I found this place, he went one way and I the other. Great memories
Sorry to ask another question, you had said in another comment you used sherwin williams vandyke brown as your glaze, was that there bac wiping stain? In canada were limited i use there bac wiping stains as glazes because we don't have "glazes" in canada ,but i find the bac wiping stain takes 3 days to dry before i can top coat due to the low binding ingredients, but it has great playability just curious if your using another product i don't know about from sherwin, i see you use gel stains from old masters but they color the paint a bit dark unless you top coat and then apply, so i was just curious because your glaze in this video came off very well similer to a bac wiping stain does on just a painted surface.Just wasn't sure if you had issues with drying time, im always afraid of the wrinkle effects in my clear coat if my glaze isnt dry enough before my laquer, so I always wait 3 days before laquer, so just wondering what your take is on this, Thank you, you are definitely an idol of mine perfect execution alaways look forward to more videos.
Definitely the BAC, not sure why it’s taking three days to dry. Should wipe it off immediately after doing one area, say a door panel or something like that. In a well ventilated are you could probably re-coat in a couple hours. This is why we make samples so you don’t commit to a piece of furniture and unhappy with the outcome. Here’s the process- paint, distress, glaze, topcoat. Every piece will come out darker once you apply glazing so definitely make samples then duplicate.
Theres some other distressing techniques that you dont show, the ones that look like deep knots and those circular ones. How exactly are you doing those? Amazing work i just haven't been abke to figure that one out.
The deep knots are real but we usually add “worm” holes and continue the “rot”. We have another video coming out soon that shows a bit more of what we do. Best thing to do is grab some scrap wood, make samples and have fun. Thank you!
What kind of clear coat ?
We like to spray a dull rub lacquer for interiors but you can use any brush on as well.
Perfect 😀
Thank you!
One of the better fly fishing youtube videos out there. Nice work.
Thanks a lot! We’re pretty proud of it too.
This really made me want to head south 🙌🎣
Gotta put it on the list for every year dude!
I’ve been here and caught a 12 pound brown trout and tow 10 plus pound rainbows. Best fishing ever
It’s a special place for sure!
This trip must have at milacs lake?
Close but……
That is a beautiful Muskie, congrats!!!!!
Yeah she was. Hopefully see her again this year. Got her address!
Great bull sir!
Thank you so much!
I have been a fishing MT resident for over 30 years and its sad how commercialized our state has become and the serious impacts it has on our fish. The trout are literally dying out
Your work is true artistry! I couldn't help but think how the process of distressing with imperfections and refinishing is a lot like our experience through life. Amazing work!
We really appreciate that Marcel and great metaphor! Thank you!
You All are true craftsman😊 These are Beautiful!!!
Thank you very much. We’ve been working on a couple more and will be posting soon. Stay tuned!
What kind of glaze do you use??
Oh, what a feeling... Nothing compares... NothING compares...
That was a legit monster dude!
For sure dude, good to hear from you!
Thanks! Long time no talk! Seriously that thing is ridiculous!! I'm a fellow Montananananian now...Been up in Great Falls since August...So maybe see ya around Brother
😂😂😂😂😂😂
*6:18**, what kind of a stone stack is it on the wall? Is it dry or needed mortar - and what brand is it?*
It is a chief cliff dry stack natural stone. There is mortar behind but it is brushed out of the joints to give the appearance it is a stack of rocks.
Catching muskies is easier in Minnesota, both in terms of numbers and size. Hands down. No offense to the guide here.
nice! two hands tho brother.. :)
Nice 50. I only caught one 50"er and that was in NC, a Silver Musky.
They don’t come very often so it’s important to fish water that grows 50’s!
@@Fishcamp a numbers lake I used to fish just below Quebec, transformed to a trophy lake after pike were introduced. It's rather frustrating to catch pike but I found to just upsize the lures to target the muskie. No more 3-4 fish days though.
If you were in crystal falls a day or so ago, you boat plate was hanging by a thread. Hope all is well.
Yep, that was me and got it taken care of before hitting the road!
