    For port isolatio or noise floor you shoul terminate both ports withh 500 ohms termination. When you calibrate you shoul not connect you standards (open, short , load thru adapter), they should be connected direcly to thend of the cable to avoid any phase diffrence.

    • @ThePyrosirys
      @ThePyrosirys Před dnem

      The picture is small, but I think the trace is just a normal pcb trace, like 20 mils or something. The blob is just a bigger connection, so it's like multiples of the parasitic resistances and inductances in parallel which makes the parasitics smaller.

    Very good presentation, but can I ask? Isn't it bad your S-Parameters were outside the smith chart for your passive resistor? Seems concerning since we then used those S-paramtesr to calculate Zdut

    Quick question, for the user LED you have the cathode connected to the ESP GPIO and the anode connected to +3v3. Doesn't the output from the esp32 produce +3v3 making both sides of the LED receive +3v3?

  • @alexanderquilty5705

    Can you do a tutorial on SFP footprints for SMT and THT that come with a cage? I'm unsure of the ebst approach since some cages have LED indicator chutes but you cant overlap components if you exclude the LED pads from the footprint, and if you do include the LED pads then you are missing 2-20 LEDs depending on the type of cage. My specific use case is a SFP Connector MOLEX_76047-5003

Thankyou

  • @RichardSchulting

    Really interesting stuff, thank you! Now how about when designing a LDMOS 440Mhz driver amp for let's say 5W output. Now every inductance counts, also for those decoupling capacitors. When using a single capacitor it will have a resonance frequency offering no decoupling at all near that frequency, often in the neigbourhood of a few 100 Mhz, that's why I still use those 3 values, 1nF, 10nF and 100nF on the powerrails., each having different resonant frequencies. I still think this is better solution than a single decoupling capacitor... What is your opinion about this? I hope to see an answer but looking at the other comments I guess I will not get one...
