DOG COMPETITION DID NOT GO AS PLANNED
A hard and short timeframe challenge for Tom one of a canine consultants took on Louie a spaniel who had been making his family lives difficult.
It turns out that Louie really was not a easy to train after all. Due to his spaniel energy and the fact that he was very sharp witted compare to most cocker spaniels. It seems he would earlier forget what he had just learnt. The came apparent after a canine consult who a over 8 years of dog training experience took him to compete and hopefully win a small local dog competition.
This goes horribly wrong as Tom did not release there were additional rules. which would affect their overall performance.

Hi thanks for the video! How should i go about the actual "hunting" step? should i have a kong ready just incase my dog doesnt find anything for a while to keep her motivated?
Try taking you do into woods. before your truffle season starts and try the truffle smelling Kong. The do first needs to understand the work you are asking of it. We have got many places where we have not found a truffle. The dog will gain the motivation throw the work. I have never known a dog to lose motivation, just keep the experience positive.
What basic skills should I teach my dog before doing this
Recall, Stay, Sit, watch. this idea is the dog will always follow your instruction. This become more difficult when we are teach dogs to use their nose in the right way. Thank you for the question
