Round Lashing - used to connect two spars together to increase their lengths. It's different from the shear lashing as there are no frapping involved and the clove hitches are tied around both spars at the start and at the end of the wraps.

Just a quick update on the seeds that I started on April 15th. Today is May 9th. Most of the seeds have sprouted, although some like the Cayenne Pepper just started sprouting. Here's a simple macrame key fob project, using cords of 3 different colors. For this project, you will need 8 total cords, measuring 2 feet each. You decide which colors you like. Easy sample quilling project. This floral design uses marquise, tight circle, and teardrop shapes. I used 5 mm paper strips for all except for the daffodil corona part with which I used 10 mm strip. I used a motorized slotted needle and a stencil, but you don't need them to complete this project.

Interesting: You're tying two half-hitches on the standing end. Wikipedia shows a Magnus hitch on the standing end, ie reversing direction between the half hitches. Several other youtube knotters put two half hitches on the pipe itself. I even found a seemingly experienced youtuber putting the half hitches on the pipe itself, but loading the pull the opposite way.
I have watched so many videos and tried to understand this braid. Thank YOU... I think I've got it now!!

How is that different from the alpine butterfly knot? Is that another name for it?
they are different. man harness knot is also called the artillery loop
Alpine butterfly is also omnidirectional. This is one directional.

So I'm fairly new to this type of arts and crafts. Although your video doesn't highlight that slit on the end of the quilling tool. It's the only video I've seen give a close visual. From watching your video I finally figured out how to correctly use the quilling tool. I had no idea there was a slit on that end. Total game changer!

My coils won’t unwind, what am I doing wrong
I am not really sure. I am also new to this craft. But I noticed that if I worked the paper strip multiple times because of mistakes, it wouldn't unwind that much anymore. Try a new strip, and try not to wind it too tightly and hold it too long in your fingers maybe. Hope it helps!

Not tied correctly
This is how I learned it: Wind the working end around the pipe 4 or 5 times and then tying it on to the standing part with double half hitches or clove hitch. I've seen people use a lark's head knot to secure theirs. I know there's another method where you form a bight first before wrapping it around the pipe. Please enlighten if the info I got is incorrect. Thank you!
@@RoadToMasterGuide The proper pipe hitch ends with the clove hitch tied around the pipe, not the rope.
@@benjaminvalenzuela3948 i believe that's also one way to finish the knot, by tying it on to the pipe itself instead of the standing part of the rope.
What is this supposed to be good for? For directional pull for pipes and cylinders a Timber hitch or a rolling hitch cannot be improved on.

good start , but a clean pipe and better angle for the camera will improve the video so much.
