I wouldn’t advise that. As there is a suction all around the nipple, I would be wary of discomfort & short term potential damage to the skin. For low milk supply, drinking plenty of water & frequent feeds/pumping (manual or electric, the Haakaa won’t be as effective) is the best advice I can give. If that does not help after a couple of days, maybe meet with a lactation consultant. I hope it all goes well for you ❤️

There is a small switch at the back of the machine. Behind the feed dogs/teeth. So bottom back left, it’s a flat switch. You will see it if you look at the back of the machine. Hope that helps.

Oh, I don’t think it should feel like that. Maybe try warming up the breast & the mouth of the Haakaa with your hands. Are you collecting anything with it?

It’s hard to tell. Maybe the stud or centre part of the snap is sticking out too much, stopping it from closing? I wish there was a feature in YT to share photos.

I actually ran into the breastfeeding consultant at my maternity hospital. She gave us some, one on one time and helped my daughter to latch. As she was older, that helped show her that she could do it and we were able to feed pretty easily after that. I had a lot of help in the first 2 weeks, but as a newborn with difficulty, she just wasn’t ready to put in the work. Sometimes a little time helps as they get a bit stronger. Good luck ❤️

I actually found the same. After a year, I upgraded to another machine.

@@MamaBanana oh thanks for replying.. everyone keeps implying it’s me not threading properly and not the machine! I noticed the bobbin casing moving around so much, the thread lifted out! When I pull it apart, the bobbin housing unit is held by a small magnet!!

That’s so frustrating. I bought mine through Amazon. I got in touch with customer service and was able to return and get a full refund! Hope you manage to get the issue sorted, or better yet, a refund 🤞

Sometimes it helps to give it a clean. So I would unscrew the bobbin plate & get a clean paint brush to gently sweep out all the lint & dust. That has worked for me before & worth a try. Good luck ☺️

Hi don’t believe so. Since my hormone induced periods have returned, I’ve not had any bleeds. Post op, the doctors also confirmed that I would no longer have period bleeds. I hope you recover quickly x

I did a little research on it as I was quite surprised myself. As the ovaries are still intact, they can still produce and release these ‘period’ hormones, causing cramping, bloating, and other PMS symptoms even though the uterus has been removed. It creates a light suction that it can be used pump for relief, but I don’t think that you can empty the breast with it & it will be a lot of work to keep squeezing out the air to keep the suction going. It is used mainly for catching let down milk as you are feeding. Hope this helps ☺️

I had my hysterectomy just over 2 years ago. I’m 90% sure I didn’t have spotting, at least not a month after. It may be worth following up with your healthcare provider. I hope you recover quickly. Look after yourself x

That's interesting. Never heard of a 1/2 layered hemp inserts, only for flats and prefolds. I'm aware of 3,4 and 6 layered hemp inserts. Does a 1 layered insert hold anything?
