It is a wonderful motorcycle to ride, I have travelled in Italy quite a few times with it and never had any problems. The only thing I was not much happy about was the seat. It is not very comfortable for long rides. I did however solve the problem, by buying an Airhawk seat which I use when going on tour. I am going on a tour again end of May with my mates. Just bought my cbf 1000 a few weeks ago, and am just trying to get used to it as I only passed my full licence a few months ago. Can you give me any tips about the performance etc on the bike. I have a 2008 abs model, Unmarked black with full fairing, like new

Totally agree a sportser is a great bike and it is made by an awesome company Harley American made bike. I have a sportser too, and I love it and not ashamed of it. Why is it they call it a chic bike when a lot of other bikes are smaller cc's and they don't seem to call it a chic bike. Harley!! Ride on brother and ride safe
Wow, "triumph, whatever that is"...? Triumph was the bike of choice for setting land speed records on the Bonneville salt flats, and i wasnt trashing your bike, i was giving you kudos for riding it. I also own a sportster aswell as a triumph.
call it what you want, but it only seems like its a girls bike when its a harley, i have a 66 triumph tiger 650 and no one says "is that your wifes?" just because its less than 1000 cc's. For those of you that think real men ride big twins only i can guarantee most of you have spent less than a decade on a bike or learned how to ride last week. Fuck the engine size, its all about pride in your ride. Nice sporty brother!
sorry man, i think you have little idea of what a sportster is. take a look at the engine and gearbox, they are a single unit which is only found on the sportsters. the bigger models are serperate components
any real rider knows the sportster inside and out, its been around for 50 years so call it whatever you want, its affordable and for what you pay for it, its an excellent bike.

what should I use to bring back to chrome shine on the exhausts as they are a bit blue from the heat????

Thanks for the comment, The higher screen is much better for when I go touring but the lower fairing was done more for the look.

sportster or not....but that s a very beautiful bike and i love the way it sounds and sparkles in the sunlight.

You are entitled to your opinion, but it is definately a customized 1989 Sportster. I'm happy with the way it looks now and it sounds great too.
But I'd love to tell you that it is a customized 1989 Sportster XL 883.
