With a 5 section wooden overhead garage door, should I use #1 hinges on the first 2 bottom panels, then #2 hinges on the third panel, and #3 hinges on the fourth panel? First cut out 40% of the door, then drive screws into 30% remaining on each side. Scary. Probably voids the door warranty as well, especially since you didn't even prime the bare wood you've just exposed! An exterior door will definitely rot from that. Even if you prime, the water will sip btw the door and the sweep, then into the screw holes, the holes will rot and screws fall out.
