You can also equip rim174 as the secondary slot. It is really good against helicopters and aircrafts especially bombers. Also you can still use it as a flare bait.

Its cannons got better accuracy and faster reaction time than Garpun, it can also stop X51 slingshot

As a long-term player who used to play in tournaments, I would like to suggest an alternate missile build for Akizuki: Full YJ-21 (if level 25+) or Granit (lvl 15+) missiles. You use the M270 to bait flares, then nuke them with 4 high-damage missiles.
then avoid getting close since Granit's launch speed is slow
Nanchang is an underrated T3 destroyer, good job highlighting it for new players.
Yeah, it's the most consistant ship at tier III and is relatively forgiving if you make mistake
I still use it f2p with 3xScalp, Monarch, Ikara, Typ89, Caich, 5xGarpun, Cortale quite often.
One of the best cheap T3 ship,Another one is the Vella Gulf
