I want to see this full episode
Why is it black and white?
Holman annoyed a lot of spectators. However he was a superb shot maker. I respect that. He was on his way to winning this tournament & a few shots got away from him. Marshall's career speaks for itself.
Watching this and listening to George bensons breezin in the background brings back great memories
I bowled 4 games, in a Showboat Las Vegas House Tournament in !994. 30 years later, I still remember what a SUPER CLASS ACT he was. He was very encouraging. Thank you, Johnny Petraglia, for that experience.
Everyone in the 80's looked like a potential serial killer...
Those lanes sucked to play on it seemed. Something was off
i noticed this was recorded in Medford, Oregon, home of Mr. Holman. Family recorded?
It’s amazing this was on tv lol
The way bowling is supposed to be.
I am old enough to remember what Capital Plaza used to look like. LOL LOL
The Candy Man can
Years ago I was at a bowling tournament in the Detroit area, and Dick Weber was there. It was so fun to watch him bowl, as he was so accurate. I had stayed after the event for a while and the bowling alley was just about empty, and even most of the bowlers had left. I was on a pay phone talking to a good friend, Joe H, and Joe loved Dick Weber. I called him to tell him I saw his bowling hero, and then to my surprise, Dick Weber was walking down the hall my way. He then was right next to me, and I asked him to say hello on the pay phone to my friend Joe. He took the phone and talked to Joe, and I never thought I was going to get the phone back. What a great guy he was that day, AND EVERY DAY.
this is teir one meat riding holy, love both players though
Holman was one hell of a bowler but that Ted Bundy serial killer hairstyle was not necessary.
SHUT UP LADY
In my opinion, Marshall was in his prime in 1984. He had added experience, success & confidence to go with a BOATLOAD of physical talent. Pete Weber was great yet not even close to his prime. YET. HE SURE HAD THE AMBITION & PREPERATION THOUGH with the DRIVE to be better than his father.
She is just absolutely adorable. Pure light <3
OMG. TRULY, One of the most PROFESSIOÑAL, MENTALLY GROUNDED, HUGELY LIKEABLE HUMAN BEINGS EVER. DICK WEBER. Nelson "Bo" Burton did a great job with the interview AND what a pair of professionals. TWO COMPLETELY RELIABLE PROFESSIONALS. I cant get over just how good Dick looks here at 52. Very healthy. Certainly does not look 52!😮😊😊
Looks like Billy Hardwick got his ass beat the night before
What oil pattern back then ?
Mike Truitt is my grandfather, this is so cool to watch so many years later.
Dad watched these nearly every week, he was quite a bowler. I wish AMF still had those Magic Triangle masking units....they defined quality facilities when I was growing up.
Petraglia looks like Jeff Dahmer here
Thanx so much for these great old tournaments! I remember bowling at age 4 and doing badly, but wanting to bowl more. I had a couple bowling sets for kids (including a Tudor game where the pins flipped up if you hit them). I never bowled in a league until about 10 years ago and now I'm hooked. These old classic bowlers were so skilled, and some went on to the Hall of Fame. I try to learn what I can from these shows. Thank you again!
Garden City Bowl one of Long Island best that is not longer there. What a shame!! Earl Anthony could do no wrong there it was his house.
As big a strikeball as Mattingly had, his shot was always totally uncontrollable. It was little wonder he had such terrible TV record.
This two handed bowling is a joke. Give me Mark Roth vs Earl Anthony vs Marshall Holleman in their prime any day over this stuff.
Luv these old matches. Suddenly it’s Saturday afternoon on ABC with Chris and Bo and I’m 15 again. Really appreciate you posting this in such high quality. The PBA was so much better back then..no loud music and louder spectators making a mockery of each match like we see today.
According to the banner at the beginning of the telecast, I can deduce this telecast was November 27th, 1971. I was a month and a half old. My best years bowling league off and on between 1984 (13 yrs.) to 1997 (26 yrs.) Never got to watch telecasts this early, obviously. Thanks for sharing 👍.
Did all of the pro bowlers use 16# balls?
Most of them use black balls (sometimes brown)
lol hardwick never had "talent"
Tim has the best RBF ever
Mark Williams = one of the worst games ever on the PBA...Scott Devers is number 1
굿! 퍼니스트 홈 비디오 버전 감사요
1 min in. Sorry but horrendous camera work that’s not worthy of my attention.
Ahh, the Brunswick A2 pinsetter, the best there is!
@34:45 Well, you visited the RocknRoll Hall of Fame... "Hello Hall, see ya Hall!" 🤣
Memories we will always have
Now after ABC finished it's slate of PBA telecasts; didn't CBS or NBC do the rest of the spring/summer events?
let me clear my throat Ahut ahut Hut
After twenty years you’d think they’d learn to close those shutters.
Belmo is so smooth
more urethane crutches in use. The lefty probably could not even bowl with a reactive ball.....
OMG, Eric didn't get a strike??
Clearly you didn't watch the video
@@akbarshabazz-jenkins7847 oh I did. He was almost all strikes the other day in the team competition. Was a shame he didn't make the step ladder finals. The kid is amazing.
Sad what's happened to bowling.
Nothing happened but better competition…😅
Guy can't keep up with better players
It’s called evolution my friend
Two hands is for children... 😮
@@polysatinpantyslapper4672 Your a child if you think that
"look at that ball gyrating" LMAO. these announcers are so clueless
45:04 Tip of the Week with the awesome Johnny Petraglia, who is a Vietnam vet and just an all around great human, even without his exploits on the lanes.
Fancy reminds me of Paige before the weight loss.
Bo belittling as usual. He always had something negative to say during his lane interviews.
Walter is classic, dude bowled good on tour for so long
