    I understand, but still spending money and expecting a nice sunny vacation but instead being holed up in your room all afternoon or walking on the slippery road, or experiencing overcast skies on the islands instead of the sun, just to save a little $$ is not worth it

    Th point of impact on thai families in hospitality business when you go in low season blew my mind. True humanitarian there. I am thinking to go in August but I am scared as its major rainy month.

    I like that you are mentioning these reasons but there is no proof along with it. You are sharing stock footages from the internet. For a change you could be telling lies. You should have shared your experiences to back up these reasons like what price you paid for your accommodation, and showing the difference in price between high season and low season. So that people can analyse if it's really worth it. And also not all hotels / flights lower their prices in the office season so people need to keep that in mind as well. Overall just proofs to back up your reasoning would have been nice. That way this video would have been more informative.

    Phuket is not so good in raining season it often blows a gale and rains hard . Better off on the gulf side of peninsular Thailand . Long termers don't mind so much of course .

    Well articulated Rikki and couldn't agree moire with your points with the best time to visit Thailand is the Wet Season; I've travelled there from AUS during both the Wet Season & the Peak Season & would say the Rainy Season is probably up to 40% cheaper, way less crowded obviously and you have a more authentic experience dealing with the Thais who are far more relaxed during this period - Enjoy your Travels 😀

    Vegetarian is very big in Vietnam, especially the south because of Buddhism. They also have vegetarian buffet. Look for Quan Com Chay, There are places that does not require for you to pay but you can eat and donate whatever you can afford. Vietnamese vegetarian is probably one of the best in the world.

    It's hard to travel with children. I admire you for that. You are vegetarian, you should try to visit VN temple to try to vegetarian food there. There are always vegetarian versions of meat dishes. Bun Cha Gio chay is one. You need to add the word "chay" when you search for the food you want. "Chay" is vegetarian. For example, if you want Com tam (broken), you can google Com Tam Chay. it should give you couple places to eat

    Glad he showed you that grilled sticky rice and banana dessert! Sometimes the tour guides show the worst desserts there when this is an obvious favorite for Westerners (I saw Sonny from the Best Ever Food Review Show eat it years ago and he said it's delicious). I believe it won some dessert contest in SEA years back.

    • @hop3106
      @hop3106 Před rokem

      It's delicious and yeah I think Westerners will prefer it. However, most Vietnameses prefer cooler deserts since our country is hot, so ice sweet soups (chè) are more popular among the locals.

    • @doodahgurlie
      @doodahgurlie Před rokem

      @@hop3106 I love che, but prefer the versions I grew up with in Laos (which is similar to che Thai). Although, che troi nuoc is one of my favorite Vietnamese che, especially for colder months. I never really liked che ba mau, which is a popular one that people always show to Westerners (it's the one that you see most in the Vietnamese restaurants here). The whole beans throw me off, which also throws Westerners off. But they also have shown other stuff that I'm like, "Why?" Show the most delicious stuff first!"...but maybe what I find delicious isn't the same as others in Vietnam...then again, although Vietnamese (born in Laos) and growing up in the US, I understand Western palates better.

    • @Rikkijade

      @@Rikkijade A lot of people love the black sesame one, which I believe is of Chinese origin. I think if you're unfamiliar with the desserts, that's a safe one. Or find ones that have goodies stuffed into the little dough balls and served in simple syrup. Fruit ones or ones with with tapioca strands are good...just stay away from whole beans unless you like them. LOL
