For a friendly advice regarding your title, it’s better to say ‘…walking around Kamwala suburb or shopping centre area than city because Kamwala is not a city. In fact, any area within a bigger city that is regarded as a city should have its own civic offices, a mayor & councillors. The only exception to the use of the term City in Lusaka is Kingsland city, which is really not a city in the sense of the term.

Thanks for the video. Looks like Kamwala has now remained as the mother of all street vending in the city of Lusaka. Hope the new market will be commissioned soon for the people to go into the market. Lusaka should aim to close up all the open drainages so that the street vendors stop throwing rubbish in them. Little wonder that the place does get flooded when it rains because the drainages get blocked

The ring road should have been made into a dual carriageway like that Mugwi road. But then, I fail to understand why town planners never think of pedestrians when they design these city roads. Thanks

In Zambia we don't have modern architec structures, its time to come up with green cities ,our African countries are doing it,talk of Dakar city, Accra Ghana, Nairobi Kenya, windhork Namibia, Gaboron Botswana, their cities are better than ours, where is the problem? Zambia is a second world producer of copper after Chile, is it that we don't have people with big brains? I want to say for us to do that we only need to people with big ideas/vision and interest to do it not just people with papers that can not work out to solve any problem or to bring development in the country. I want NAPSA to take initiative to build morden structures in those places where they are inferior structures which are below standard and those empty spaces to build up something and put them on rentals to make money for the Nation.
