i don’t think people understand when i say that this song makes me sad. well, i guess melancholic is a better word for it. what i mean is that how i think about it, the entire sequence of events in the song is all a dream, something out of reach, yes, but also a literal dream. i mean the first line is “i saw her in a dream” so it kinda speaks for itself. but anyways, everything that happens in this sequence sounds just slightly like floating on a cloud, almost. like being elevated. everything is really rushed in the song, but it gives it a dream-like quality and makes you think “yeah. this is how it’s supposed to be.” but in the very end, i picture everything slowly fading out, and on that last harsh note, the person wakes up. it was all just a mere fantasy, something that will never actually happen. but oh well, that’s just how i envision the song.

For those who are unaware, Murakami is an awesome writer! This song reminds me of elements of Kafka on the Shore and Norwegian Wood, both good books by him!

Okay good song but like as a former barista 104° isn't hot 😅 unless we talking Celsius cuz then that's boiling.
