So I got one. And before I could use it that little dial fell off. It's just cosmetic but still. They could do better than that. Other than that the other complaint I have is the amount of moa per click. My God there's 3 or 4 clicks worth of play in between each click. I am not mad at anyone cause I knew what I was getting myself into but I'm not really feeling it after I have it and have it mounted. I can't keep asking myself if my back up sights are a smarter option to have. I did put it on a AR with a 22 conversion installed. Also I have that acout 340 vamp set up you mentioned. So I guess it's field test time. Fingers crossed.

great video, could you compare nvg30 to opsin at 30 fps? as this will be a better comparison to between the 2 cameras.

Thanks for the comparison. After losing my old, beat up PVS-7 to a tweaker break in during cancer, I bought an NVG-30, not expecting much. Man, was I wrong. The NVG30 is really the vanguard of what digital night vision is capable of. Inasmuch as analog NV followers may say: “digital will never be as good as analog”, I regret to inform them that while digital has not quite passed analog on the highway of night vision, the turn signal is on and the gas pedal is being pressed. The real tell will be: improving technology, while keeping prices low. I’m certainly not running and gunning with my NVG-30, but at 40fps (not why they bothered with 30fps) the latency on it is surprisingly low. I’ve also found WP setting to be the sweet spot and I turned off all icons - just a clean screen. The compass, crosshairs etc, were too busy for me. I’ve also found auto gain to be the best suited, even though it’s a bit bothersome at first. Leaving the gain in high, just doesn’t work for my eyes. I also wish there were a dedicated app for this. The instruction manual indicates there is one, but I have yet to be successful with the QR code. An app with firmware updates (if there are any) would be great. I was going to bino this unit with another one, but I think I’ll be investing instead into the new, wide angle lens for this and calling it done. Down the road, I may be buying an ADNV - which also looks amazing and the SE is now running well under the Opsin and far far below the PVS-14’s, while offering pretty incredible utility. Is that fire control group 3d printed? Is that why it double fired?

For serious use, do not go with any other than analog and maybe the opsin. Yes that includes MSW games. You will be a walking lighthouse for people with actual night visions, you will get your friend and yourself shwacked.

From what I've pulled from this. If I want a passive system without the risk of being counter detected, I need to gun for the Analog Image intensifier night vision method. Digital works well but requires IR in 25% or less illumination? Whereas Image Intensifier takes full potential in low light conditions, only needing IR in near or total darkness?

Are the PVS-69's build as a quad build?

PVS-69 seems to sit at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to digital NVGs. Kinda sad, since that's the most affordable/customizable option - newest version, you can even swap from digital to NVGs. Wish there were more DIY options that produce the type of results we see from the NVG-30s (Which seems to look better than the Opsin and even analog in some scenarios)

really wanna see a full breakdown on the one you built yourself thats really cool.

Seems to me that if you're going to use these kinds of things for security around your house, you should invest in some IR light bulbs that run at night. That way, even the cheapest system will work well and you'll still have the advantage of using them with IR off so you have concealment.

The nvg 30 seems like a good deal imo

its crazy the opsin can keep up with the 40hz nvg30 at 90fps

some of those printed parts need some serious tweaking to the settings lol some of them are looking rough. it is possible to get way cleaner prints than that. just some constructive criticism

i noticed the gain on the opsin was adjusted in many of the shots. is there a reason for the adjustments? did you try and use the gain to provide the best performance?

Thoughts on having a IR light mounted forward of the red dot sight? I found the nvg30s in build ir would flood the screen of the red dot sight. With ir turned off I could see the dot easy

An updated version of the pvs69 with the caddex infra lowlight camera would be intetesting to see the inproved performance.

This is what I have to have say about the NVG 30 myself owning it for about nearly 6 months now I really wish that I can get a firmware update because I noticed there’s quite a few bugs with the firmware update that I have. I have even asked the companybinoc for firmware update and of course I got nothing. Seriously the devices, firmware or programming is holding it back from its full potential because I noticed it does this unnecessary filtration and dolls out a lot and light when it doesn’t need to.

How hard would it be to make a monocular for a PVS-7 tube? I've got a really nice Omni VII tube that I'd love to move over to a monocular.

If the analog tube is a rebranded xd4 which it is minimum fom should be 1140 and not 1600. Average fom for xd4s is 1472.

It would be nice to get your opinion on the bpnvg-18. I just built some and it's simple to make. But I'm still working some stuff out.
