Awesome to hear that both of you enjoyed it! I passed it up for many years and finally pulled the trigger, and I was happy that I did. I do think it drinks more like an Amber Ale with some hop characteristic as opposed to an old school IPA, which I think really works well. Like you said, great for the Autumn weather! Cheers, Jon!

Thanks for sharing! It fits the bill as a "beer" that you can definitely enjoy and socialize with people at a party, hosting friends at your house, a BBQ, etc. I personally don't enjoy the flavor. The finish kind of ruins it for me. That said, there's a bunch of other similar beers that I enjoy more, but they're in the same realm of Rolling Rock. I'm not a beer snob who looks down at macro/regular lagers. I'll get down with some Miller Hight Life or Genny Cream Ale. Definitely a beginner beer, and it's one that I'm happy many people enjoy. I just wish I was one of 'em, haha! Crazy how popular AVGN made Rolling Rock, though. Most of the comments are from his viewers, which is wild, but awesome. Cheers!

I'm not one to go bonkers over Hazy Pale Ales, but this beer was definitely hitting properly. They did an amazing job with it. I could easily drink a bunch of this in one sitting, which is rare for me to say about a hazy of any kind, haha! So damn good, man. It's funny the term "Stan" originated with Eminem's song of the same name. Crazy how that song is like 25 years old. Insanity! I do enjoy Riwaka, but I think I prefer it a bit more in conjunction with other hops. A few people have told me they get that "dirty gym bag/locker room" vibe, and I get it. Like you, it's more of that spiced/peppery herbaceousness for me. I think we're just interpreting it differently, which is usually how it works. Vic Secret is a hop I usually get big pineapple, so that makes sense. Classic Galaxy = crushed pineapple. Over the years, it's changed, so it seems like Vic Secret is more like what Galaxy used to be, at least to me. Cheers, Curtis!

@@averagejoe716 I appreciate it when a mid range alcohol Pale ale/IPA is really good like that. I feel like I talk about OH all the time but they do a ton of beers in that range that I honestly enjoy just as much as the 8.5% versions. I didn’t know that Stan came from the song until not all that long ago but it makes sense once you think about the lyrics of it. Haha Dang I didn’t know people got dirty gym bag from it. Maybe it’s like the cilantro of hops. 😂 I get why someone wouldn’t like it because it’s not your typical fruit bomb like a lot of hops. I’m sure I’ve said before, but I believe it’s bred from Czech Saaz and I definitely get a bit of that character but with a bunch of that NZ character.

Citra Daydream is one of my favorite beers from them, and it's actually one of my desert island beers. I could drink it all day long! Yep. I love me some Eminem, especially more of his deeper/underground cuts. He's still going strong nowadays, and his rapping ability is just absurd. Crazy that some folks don't consider him as one of the greatest of all-time. You don't have to relate to his music, you just have to acknowledge his ability, IMO. LOL @ cilantro of hops. That's a great comparison. I think a lot of people who enjoy straight fruity juice bombs are the ones who typically don't care for it. It makes sense, but I love the unique quality of Riwaka.

@@averagejoe716 You know I’m not 100% if I’ve had Citra Daydream. I think I have at the FLX brewery but I can’t quite recall. Definitely have had All Citra Everything. Everything they do is just so good. Eminem is definitely one of the best rappers ever. No doubt. I’m younger than you but definitely remember seeing him on MTV like, who the heck is this guy. I get why people would prefer fruit bomb hops (and I definitely do as well) but it’s nice when a hop throws a curveball in there to stand out. Which is why we also like Sabro so much. No mistaking it. Haha

I think it's one of those issues where some people get that medicinal flavor from cherry in drinks, and some don't. It's funny, if I asked 10 people whether or not this tastes medicinal or not, I'd probably get a split response. I'm not sensitive to it, so I find it OK. Some people, like yourself, hate it. On a side note, I love Luden's cough drops, so that probably helps, haha! Appreciate the comment! Cheers!

I think a lot of people have had that same experience, and I think I'm one of them. Never really loved lagers, but after reviewing so many different ones over the past 2-3 years, I can safely say that I thoroughly enjoy 'em. I still love all those other styles, but the fact I can get down with a bunch of lagers is a win in itself, haha! Cheers, buddy!

I remember seeing Guinness Chocolate Mint Stout and Shipyard Mint Chocolate Stout. The Shipyard one was in bombers only back before 4 packs replaced them.

You're spot-on, Billy. There's certain ingredients in beer that can make or break a beer, and those certainly qualify for me. Thankfully, this one really worked well. I've had a handful of mint chocolate beers before, including the Shipyard one mentioned by Chaz, and they've been interesting. I think a lot of breweries like to steer clear because it's hard to balance. I love 'em and wish there were more available! Cheers, dude!

@@averagejoe716 I think you’ll like it although from my memory it’s not the usual OH body and is more in the medium range, but is super drinkable. I’d also imagine quite a bit less sweet since it’s lower ABV. The flavor of Motueka is just so good.

Yeah, I would expect both of those things to check out. I'm fine with a medium-bodied beer at 6.5% ABV. I'm sure the mouthfeel is still pretty epic based on the oats/lactose. I'll have to grab it the next time they release it, for sure.

Thanks for the comment, Patrick! My favorite N/A Hazy IPA is Just the Haze from Samuel Adams. Not sure if you've tried it out, but it's quite delicious, and I enjoy it more than this. As for other non-alcoholic breweries, there's Go Brewing out of Chicago that is supposedly quite solid, but I've only had one beer from them that was just OK. Deschutes Black Butte N/A Porter = my favorite non-alcoholic beer to date. They also have their Fresh Squeezed N/A IPA, and it was quite solid, too. Untitled Art has a non-alcoholic line that is surprisingly good, as well. Hope this helps! Cheers!

I’d give their daydream series (those all have lactose) a try some time. They do a good job of not overdoing it. It’s a little sweet but far from cloying to me. Nothing like a milkshake IPA or something like that. The cool thing about that daydream series too is it’s always a single hop I believe.

I typically don't have issue with the dates on Other Half's cans, so that's weird. Maybe it all depends on which location they come from? This can specifically was crystal clear on the bottom of the can. Also, I agree with Curtis. The lactose in this series isn't overwhelming. Never becomes cloying and just helps out the body and mouthfeel without being over the top. That vanilla hint isn't too big. I don't think the series is exclusively single-hopped, but the vast majority definitely are. There's been so many releases at this point, I lose count. Cheers, boys!

Nice, Dave! My preference when it comes to Witbiers is Allagash White here in the US. It's so damn good, plus it's much cheaper than most imports. Never had the Bavaria Wit or Lucky Saint Lager, but I'll add them to the list and see if I can get either around here. Cheers, man!

It's worth giving it a shot. Doesn't drink like the regular Blue Moon, but I find it's a tasty beverage, especially if you like orange soda pop or even something like Tang. Hope you dig it if you do try it, man! Cheers!

See, I think the Little Thing series is fine and serves its purpose. It's a nice "shelfie" IPA series from a reputable brewery. I've enjoyed most in the series, but I also don't go into it comparing it to local/regional breweries pumping out great hazy beer. This is probably my favorite of the series, but it's not mind-blowing or setting a new standard. For less than $2/can, I can get behind it, though. That said, if you don't like the series, this one is probably not changing your mind. I had no idea they released a Crisp Little Thing, but I just checked, and it looks like it's only available in a variety pack. Bummer. Cheers, Chaz!

I love me some Torpedo! This one is a bit different in that it has that new school fruity flair, but the comparison isn't too far off. As for chatting with Chad, he moved many years ago, and my schedule changed, so I don't chat with the Canadian guys as much anymore.
