Dylan and Cody Chitwood
Registrace 29. 03. 2013
Two average boaters in Northeast Georgia. We started paddling in October of 2021. Cody had been rec paddling a few times and enjoyed it, so he bought two whitewater boats that he knew virtually nothing about. One was a Pyranha H3, the other was a Perception Java. Because we started in the fall, we dove in deep and got dry suits and gear of mixed quality. We did sign up for some basic lessons and safety courses just to make sure we felt comfortable being upside down in a boat. We started working on combat rolls in spring of 2022. Once we got that dialed in (many swims later), we started to challenge ourselves a little more. We got some good gear, and some new boats. I’m currently in a M Ripper 2, and a Scorch X. Both are fireant colorway. Cody has a blue M Scorch, and a gecko 242 Firecracker. There’s still a lot to learn though, and a lot of new water to paddle. Chattooga has become our home run. Can’t wait to see what this year brings 🤙🏼
Cheoah River Kayaking PFD
This was a PFD for the both of us. I remember when Cody told me about this river a few years ago. We were apprehensive about even rafting the thing in ‘23, but we did. I remember thinking that it would be years before I’d be ready for Cheoah, yet before I knew it, I was at the put in with my Ripper2 and some mild anxiety. Cody had the Scorch on his shoulder. We hit the river with some of our favorite people. A few had been down Cheoah before, so we had a solid crew with good beta. It was a HOT day, so there was an urge to get on the water and cool down. Cheoah is wild, though, so there wasn’t much time for that. We set off, and this is how it went 🤙🏼 #whitewater #cheoah #kayaking #gopro #pfd #whitewaterkayaking

Upper Nantahala Kayaking: Dylan’s PFD
zhlédnutí 512Před 14 dny
First time down the upper Nanty! It was a 250cfs release. The run gets a lot of hate at the lower flow for some reason, but I thought it was great! Everyone had a solid day on the water. Maybe the Cascades will be in the cards by years end 🤙🏼 #whitewaterkayaking #gopro #kayaking #nantahala
Upper PFD and Middle Ocoee Whitewater Kayaking
zhlédnutí 494Před měsícem
Finally got in our Upper Ocoee PFD! We intended to run it last fall, but plans fell through. Bret, Carly, Austin, Justin, Dustin, Laura, and Sean joined us. It was a rainy day, and a couple of us were not feeling so hot, but we made the best of it. Once we finished upper, we got a fun middle lap in. Ocoee days are the best days 🤙🏼 #whitewaterkayaking #whitewater #kayaking #gopro #hero11
Chattooga Section 4 Boat Demo Day
zhlédnutí 114Před měsícem
Cody took the HotWhip60, and I took the Soul SuperSkipRR down Section 4 with a big crew. Level was just below 1.7 online. The RR was an incredible time on the water. Very agile, but also secure and made me feel confident even though it was my first time in the boat. Cody took the LilWhip. It’s a solid boat as well, but he prefers his Firecracker for sure. (He’s insane, the 60 is 🤌🏼)

Nice boat you got there buddy
Big fan lol
rut ro @.27...lol...nice save on the stern squirt...
Unintentional spin out 😂
Congrats! Cheoah is definitely intense! Would definitely be awesome to get down it one day. Im just ready to get on the ocoee lol. Its so close to me it pisses me off im not already going down it lol.
Cheoah was definitely the hardest thing we’ve done for sure. Ocoee freaked us out at first. But it actually isn’t so bad. If your roll is solid, you should be good
@TheChitwoodBrothersKayaking O I can imagine, fast and not much room for mistakes. I can go down fairly confidently following someone, but I do need to practice rolling. It's weird, I've gone almost two years without being in a boat and still got roll first time doing it again. I just hate practicing it lol. It's mainly just sinuses burning after awhile. Did get some salamander nose plugs to try, atleast until I can learn how to close my sinus again.
Nose plugs are the way to go. People like earplugs a lot too, but I always lose mine 😅
Got dang that thang is moving.
A wild one for sure!
@9:23 😂
I think there’s a boof on the left at the end of them getting tangled up. Would be aggressive though 9:31
We like to get up close and personal 😂
@@codychitwood2383that would be an aggressive boof. Maybe next time I won’t be trying to kill Tony so that I can try the boof instead 😂
that bridge was badass...pretty sweet
It was a wild ride!!! Can’t wait to get back out there
@@TheChitwoodBrothersKayaking keep up with the videos, cool stuff man. My kid is taking me Kayaking tomorrow for 1st time lol...yeah boyyyyyyy
@@BrianDarcy-1331 have fun!!
I got a good laugh from Cody paddling into me (3:28) and then he gets guided into a rock… perfect karma
I wish I had your unexpected rock flip on video too 😂

I think the funniest part was how much Justin enjoyed you flipping 🤣
Seems to be the highlight of his day.
Seems to be something very funny missing here
It wasn’t as hilarious from my point of view 😂
@@TheChitwoodBrothersKayaking you can send it to me 🥳😜
scorch?
Ripper2. If you can throw down a Scorch, you’re a beast. 😂
Wow amazing , where's this place ?
Ocoee River, TN
Hard to believe our boy Luke isn’t with us anymore.
Wild. Randomly crosses my mind.
1:07 nice rip
🤙🏼🤙🏼
Bro this is so cool Love the vid
🤙🏼🤙🏼
😢😂😅
This stuff scares me to death but I’d love to work up to something like this one day.
Took a couple of years to build up to this. Definitely worth the effort!
I just hate how gopro's don't put things into perspective. It all looks insanely fun. Except for oceana, it looks huge on camera, so I know I'd be nervous about that one lol. Like they said, just gotta work up to it.
@@michaelcarter3149 Oceana makes my stomach churn before every run. Not sure it will ever be a comfortable rapid for me. But I’ll send it every time 🤙🏼😂😂
Seems so wonderful to hear him shouting encouragement and just to hear him speaking...
Thank you guys so much for taking us down the river. Special day for us as a family doing what Luke loved. Thanks for being his river family! ❤
Any tune you want to hit the river, shoot us a message! Always happy to get people involved.
@@TheChitwoodBrothersKayaking yes 🤘
Such a special way to remember Luke.
We miss him every Friday.
Did y’all hit Riley Moore?
Not this time, everyone who has been down Riley Moore told us that we needed more flow
Good level for your first run. Always a hard one to catch with the right flow.
It was a great time, will hopefully be out there again this year.
looks awesome!
Section 3 is a great time! Best when the river is between 2-3’. It’s beautiful down in there as well. About 12mi total.
Awesome to see a first descent video in this day and age... Instant subscribe! Awesome paddling dude, I'll be looking out for more stuff from you!
This is my PFD. Others have navigated the river. My error. lol
Tell the others my story. Tell them how I used to be 😂
You will be remembered. The glory days.
@@TheChitwoodBrothersKayaking in the arms of the angel
Very cool!!
I do my best 😂
They steamrolled you 😂 What a comeback for Sam. Gorgeous day today.
It was still a fun day!
"Personal" first decent ?
Yes sir. Was an awesome time.
Browwnnnnnn, nice first descent.
Appreciate it 🤙🏼
Thank you for popping this up. Whilst sat over here in the UK we often see videos of Dane Jackson and the incredible paddlers but rarely see the weekend warrior rivers, the rivers your fairly good boaters could come over the pond and paddle. That looks like a cracking river. Thank you.
You’re welcome! Just regular class 3 guys here. Appreciate your support! Chauga takes a LOT of rain to make it worth the journey. Also less than an hour from home which is nice and convenient
Did I see someone attempt to stern squirt a Scorch? Beater
🥹
There’s a great splat rock above jawbone you should hit next time
I know the rock. I’m finally getting more comfortable in the five falls area
Yo navegando entre los problemas que la vida me entrega❤
Oh my goodness. I cannot imagine the physical preparation that must take.
I see your soundless triple drop clip 🤣
