I have a big dog, so like doing between legs tricks isn’t possible for him, any suggestions for big dog, appreciate it
Yah anything that gets your dog moving and happy. Backing up, spin and twist… hand touch is great too.
Thank you. That makes sense.
Puzzled. At the 2:08 minute mark the left hand is initially used to send the dog to wrap ‘right’ around cone, the followed several times using right hand to do the same thing. Series is repeated several times.
The left hand starts as a forward send to get the dog to take the cone as a forward obstacle. The right hand then is cuing the turn/flip away. However, this is a super old video and I focus more on the verbals now and not on so much motion.
I had a "one thing" weekend too. Marshall looks amazing❤
Love the "audience" in the background!
Go weak side first. Yeah.
I cut the saran wrap as i went along so it would take longer to unwrap. They would have to find the edge very often
We love 💘
Nice clear video! TU
Your videos always cheer me up :D
I would love to find a BorderPap breader! Can anyone help me? Can't find any information on the internet regarding breeders for this little dog! I have had 4 border collies over the years and now that I am older, I would like a smaller dog that is still like a border and the BorderPap would be perfect. Please, if anyone can share information on a good breeder, I would be greateful!
There are breeders listed on the BorderPaps in Competitive Dog Sports Facebook page.
Starting at the 3 and 9 hours is that to teach the collection piece right away?
Yes. Focuses more on the idea of wrapping the poles, bending … instead of plowing through them.

Agility
Wow Marshall and Amber!!!🎉👏👏👏
Super cool and an easy way to teach this. Thanks!
Do you use the repetitive verbal cue just during the teaching/training phase?
My “wrap” a jump, is the cue multiple times.
that is so fu////n dumb
This is my goal? And then add other set
How do you then use this later on? Right's and left's in agility runs? Foundation of some front and rear crosses? So cute! Your 2nd one picked that up quickly.
Great question. Lots of good stuff comes out of this foundation work. Tighter turns, commitment, left/right, body awareness… it’s an important step to my jump training.
@pokeypig22 cool thank you. Do you use left/right for your turns on course? Or switch or?
Beginners really should put more emphasis on foundational cone work like this. It’s not the sexy stuff people looking to start want to do but it’s absolutely essential and makes everything that comes after so much easier to teach.
For sure! I think people realize that more and more with each dog they train. ;)
The first few people claim prizes while end ppl just watches best if play with like 3 people
The best & most helpful video on teaching weave poles I've seen. Others talk & talk & talk. This one shows you how it's done & the showing does the explaining far better than all the mind-numbing talk.
If I teach my dog this will he start to pee inside? My parents are not letting me teach him fro this reason so I’m looking for proof that he won’t Pee 😢
You can assure them!. They actually don’t see it as a peeing behavior or associate it with the act of peeing. They just see it as a leg lift. I taught my girl dogs the same behavior.
@@pokeypig22 thank you I’ll try assure them
I love this method! I tried everything with 7 dogs over the years and this works best. Two questions: Where do you buy 3 weave poles? Or did you make those?
We have a local welder that does them for us.
I know that run!
I wish I seen this a couple days ago would have made day 1 easier
is this a borderpap ?
Yes he is.
What a great bunch of pups!!❤😍
Hi! It's Sierra again, I attended your program in 2017/2018. :) Adorable video! I'm not sure if you have a program for older teens/18+? If you do, I would love to attend once again! Or, if you need any volunteer positions?
Hi Sierra! Yah Covid put a stop to that program and we never started it back up. Too busy with other projects. But it was super fun while it lasted!
🎉looks like fun I love ga 0:00 mes
👍 "Promo SM"
Still my favorite❤
This is awesome, thanks for sharing it! Do you have a numbered plan or just make it up as you go?
This one was numbered. Planned before I brought my dog out.
I need to try that ending :D
*Promo SM* 🎊
Nice way to challenge their understanding. These short exercises really improve their hearing. I find some of my dogs are much weaker at the verbals in spite of pretty careful training. As I age, verbals more and more important, so glad current pupper seems to get the verbals well.
Yes. Exactly! Keeping them sharp!
Yea it sure looks like it , peace from ct
👍
Great job! When I was marching in the Army, half my platoon couldn’t tell their left from their right!:😂
😂 Sadly, I believe it. I see it all the time in agility.
Love this!! ❤
Thoroughly enjoyed this
Found video of your 1,2,3,4 weaves from YEARS ago. Have a 7 month old I intend to try it out on in a few months. Looks fun.
Fun! Love training the weaves.
Thanks again Pokey
So AWESOME 💯
Freakin' amazing!!!?
hello, tell me please, is this Borderpap?
Yes it is
Precious! Her demeanor seems similar to my female border collie. We’ll be doing her instinct test next month. I could totally see her act goofy at first also.
And she turned into a great herder! But certainly humbling at the beginning.
Great drill!
Thanks Amber!
