ANTTI PENDIKAINEN IN MEMORIAM
No one has ever done that or ever will.
That’s what Antti Pendikainen said after a 40 meter BASE jump with a motocross bike to the river. The same can be said of most of Antti’s stunts. Antti did stunning things which normally take place only in fairy tales. Even though his stunts were generally considered as extreme-high-risk stunts, Antti did extensive planning, training and risk assessment before the execution.
He took a girl on a date, ascending to 2 kilometers above ground level under hydrogen balloons. He jumped without a parachute from a hot air balloon. His achievements in the field of motorcycling were exceptional.
Antti died in a motorcycle accident on 26th May 2019 at Vesivehmaa.
Antti did everything he loved. He loved much.
He didn’t focus his thoughts on fear or worry, but always aimed his efforts on the design of new and more fierce performances.
He had an extensive circle of friends. Partly because usually, most people he met became his friends. Partly because Antti traveled a lot and met many people.
All Antti’s activities were good-hearted and purpose-minded. Antti made the world a better place. Antti had many dreams of his own and he fulfilled most of them. In addition to his own dreams, he made many of his friends’ dreams come true, including those that friends didn’t even know to exist.
Antti always did all he could to help his friends.
Antti’s farewell party took place in Tahko, Eastern Finland, on 15th June 2019. Party included skydiving, jetski, enduro and other activities Antti loved.
It’s probably no exaggeration to say that Antti lived more during his 29 years than most of us ever do.

Kukaan ei oo ikinä tehny tommosta eikä tuu ikinä tekemään.
Näin totesi Antti Pendikainen hypättyään rampilta moottoripyörällä 40 metriä jokeen. Samaa voi todeta monestakin Antin tempusta. Antti teki ällistyttäviä asioita, joista olemme yleensä tavanneet kuulla vain saduissa. Antin temput vaikuttivat ensikuulemalta päättömiltä ja lopputuloskin oli yleensä uskomaton. Kuitenkin matka ideasta toteutukseen sisälsi huomattavan määrän suunnittelua, harjoittelua ja äärimmäisten riskien hallintaa.
Hän vei tytön treffeille vetypallojen varassa. Hän hyppäsi kuumailmapallosta ilman laskuvarjoa. Hän teki historiaa moottoripyöräurheilun saralla.
Antti menehtyi 26.5.2019 tapahtuneessa moottoripyöräonnettomuudessa Vesivehmaalla.
Antti teki aivan kaikkea, mitä rakasti. Hän rakasti paljoa.
Hän ei keskittänyt ajatuksiaan pelkäämiseen eikä murehtimiseen, vaan suuntasi ajatuksensa aina uusien ja mitä hurjimpien suoritusten suunnitteluun.
Antin ystäväpiiri oli laaja. Osittain siksi, että yleensä vastaantulijasta tuli Antin ystävä. Osittain siksi, että Antti matkusti paljon ja häntä vastaan tuli monta ihmistä ja useat kulkivat hänen mukanaan.
Antin koko toiminta oli hyväsydämistä ja tarkoituksena hyvä mieli. Antti teki maailmasta paremman. Antilla oli paljon unelmia, joista hän toteutti useita. Omien unelmiensa lisäksi hän toteutti monta ystäviensä unelmaa, myös niitä, joita ystävät eivät edes tienneet itsellään olevan. Unelmien lisäksi hän teki kaikkensa auttaakseen ystäviään kaikissa asioissa, joissa suinkin pystyi olemaan avuksi.
Antin läksiäiset vietettiin Tahkolla 15.6.2019 laskuvarjohyppyjen, jetskin, enduron ja muiden hänelle läheisten aktiviteettien parissa. Läksiäisiin kerääntyivät Antin perheen lisäksi ystävät kaikista hänen eri lajipiireistään.
Ei liene liioiteltua sanoa, että Antti eli enemmän 29 elinvuotensa aikana kuin useimmat meistä ikinä.

Enlightenment is like jumping out of an airplane without a parachute. So the bad news is that you don't have parachute, but the good news is that you discover there is no ground. And then you're just endlessly falling and you never reach the ground. So in a sense, what i'm asking you to do is to jump. And you don't want to jump. You're saying, I'm scared. I'm too scared to jump. And I'm saying, jump. God is telling you, jump, jump into infinite love and it's going to be great. But you're like, what if I kill myself and what if something else happens?
