it's not going to get you rich but this glitch still has some utility. I like to use it for reputation boosting with citizens/villagers. Just put your money (and dice) away and then repeatedly lose the 1 groschen to keep getting reputation points. Also a way to do a true "Gambling Only" challenge run if that's interesting to you.

    You can get your lockpicking to 3 in Skalitz

    • @TrialBySquire
      @TrialBySquire Před dnem

      Indeed. You can get it up passed 6 in Skalitz if you loot the whole town. Skalitz is a valid option but it's not the most efficient place to level. You only get 4 lockpicks and the lock difficulties are all out of whack there. I've seen "very hard" locks I've opened at level 3 and I've seen "easy" locks I couldn't open until I was level 2 or 3. Skalitz is a pretty paranoid place. So many doors are "hard" locked, if not "very hard". There are witnesses everywhere and they never sleep. I've done it a few times and it can be really fun but it's certainly not for people that struggle with lockpicking, especially since you can't get more picks once they are broken (until talmberg). By waiting for Rattay, the player gets 15 picks and can be level 3 before leaving the mill (lasting lockpicks makes a huge difference). It's the easier and less risky option. Ledetchko doors are pretty much all "very easy" and only vendor chest are "very hard". There's more and better stuff to steal in ledetchko and since it's not time locked you can sleep, skip time, and vendors restock.

    • @alanphelan9108
      @alanphelan9108 Před dnem

      @@TrialBySquire I usually do the chests you are certain to get. One in your house, the 2 in Deutchs house as soon as he leaves, the ones in the tavern which there are 5 of (2 upstairs and 3 in the back room) and one in Kuneshs.

    • @TrialBySquire
      @TrialBySquire Před dnem

      @@alanphelan9108 a solid plan. Do you happen to know how far away from level 3 that gets you? I never tracked the XP in Skalitz too closely. It's 11 locks in Rattay (the 10 training and the 1 easy next to it), but I don't know if those training locks are a special amount of XP. Skalitz locks are definitely non standard so I expect their XP output is non standard as well. With those 9 you do in skalitz, how many more do you have to unlock to reach level 3?

    • @alanphelan9108
      @alanphelan9108 Před dnem

      @@TrialBySquire well some of the houses where the chests are the doors are locked so they count as well. Also some of the npc’s re lock the doors when they enter and leave so you can do the lockpicking again. It’s crazy but level 3/4 would be doable.

    • @TrialBySquire
      @TrialBySquire Před dnem

      @@alanphelan9108 absolutely doable, I agree. I recently leveled lockpicking in skalitz while doing some testing. I got to level 6 and starting getting all the vendor chests. Those doors getting locked again are really helpful and the only way some people get to level 20 in skalitz (which sounds awful grinding away a few doors all the way up to 20 🥵). The ones I found tricky are near the tavern because of the bailiff, Adam, and possibly Deutsch. I didn't kill them or lure them away and you gotta be so fast unlocking the tavern chest they can see through the window, and then the hard doors that are right across from the table they sit at. Thankfully, my visibility was pretty low with everything I'd accumulated so I had just enough time to pop them open. I had to load a few times to get it right, though. Good times, for sure. I don't personally feel Skalitz is a good place to level but I do think it's a really fun challenge area since it has some unique rules. The only thing you really get in Skalitz that you can't get later (and easier) is the speech XP. Once you leave the prologue all that dialogue is gone forever. Still, there's enough XP in the open world to Max speech without it.

    "I know it's a well-covered game, it's over six years old" Yeah, but most of the other guides are vague and recycle the same tips, so if things aren't clicking for a player, one is just as unhelpful as the next. I think a lot of this has to do with an assumption (either intentional or unintentional) that this game is primarily player skill based, when in truth combat experience is hugely influenced by your stats. I appreciate that you acknowledge the importance of exp and raising your stats, this took me a couple of frustrating weeks to figure out on my own, but the combat became fun and engaging once I got over the initial stat handicap. I recommend this video to anyone having trouble with combat, even if you're not wanting to cheese it with exp farming.

    • @TrialBySquire
      @TrialBySquire Před 6 dny

      I appreciate not only your thoughtful comment but also that you watched that far into the video! I try not to ramble that much anymore but it was kinda my "introduction video" since it was the first I talked in. One thing I really like about this method is that it can be used to ONLY level defence, instead of raising all combat skills to OP levels. This game is a bit about choosing your own difficulty level by deciding how much XP to grind, as you suggest, so It's great having a way to make master strikes easier to perform (to balance against multiple foes) but not necessarily make you too strong to enjoy the 1v1 encounters. How's your playthrough coming along? What's your favorite weapon?

    • @icoz7
      @icoz7 Před 6 dny

      I like anything short and stabby, which is a holdover from when I wasn't very good and found spamming stabs easiest. Now I'm fairly decent at swordplay, but stab spam is still really effective in certain situations if your target is distracted.

      That's really cool! It's quite fun to get into alchemy. I stopped sleeping and eating solid foods once I got stocked up. Potions like Bowman's Brew, bucks blood, and aqua vitalis give both nourishment and energy (with zero alcohol) so it's easy to do so. And a little extra tip for ya: If you care more about leveling alchemy than drinking, you don't have to grind any herbs like I do in the video. The XP is the same you just get less potions per brew. That'll save time getting to level 13 and unlocking Routine II.

      You'll need to be losing those games (I assume you are but just mentioning) but also it takes a few hours to be reflected. Try waiting a few hours and checking again. I'm not sure how frequently the number updates. Probably 4 hours wait is good enough but worst case try sleeping/waiting until passed midnight if the 4 hours didn't work. I do recommend tho first time players actually do this quest as intended but every playthrough afterwards just do a variation of this strat because while the quest is good it is also just a hassle to do.

      @@ItsYaBoiAram I totally agree. It should be experienced once, ideally before you know who Pious is. I think similarly about the prologue. First time, take your time and do all you can. Really ease into the game. But now? I'm so done grinding skalitz. I'm in and out the prologue in a hurry so I can play in the open world.

      Oh totally, I spend the time I would've usually spent in Skalitz just blitzing around the map picking up mid-end game level gear before I even join Radzigs garrison. There's just something satisfying about pulling up in that cutscene in full kit instead of the dumb green shirt lmao

    the question is do you have the saddles in your inventory after you get to talmburg? cause I tried few times and it just won't work. the item never moves into my inventory nor could I find it after reaching talmburg.

    • @TrialBySquire
      @TrialBySquire Před měsícem

      Yeah, I absolutely have the Noble saddle in my inventory when I get to Talmberg. I never did take the plain one, just unequipped it and left it on the horse, but the Noble I moved over. I'm not sure the nature of your problem but if you're saying the item never moves, check which button you are pressing. Moving an item from a horse uses a different button than moving an item from a chest. If you press and hold that button it'll actually drop the item on the ground. Maybe one of those are the issue? Let me know.

      @shukthy hmm. I don't really know why that would happen. I always see it in my armor tab when I check my inventory. You can even see it in my newest video when I'm browsing my storage chest @ 19m11s

    • @TrialBySquire
      @TrialBySquire Před měsícem

      Not that I'm aware of. There's one for becoming a Monk and there's ones for johanka dlc that requires you have gotten certain info from the monastery to report to the Inquisitor. This would satisfy the first achievement but not the second.

    This is so stupid! What's the big hurry to get out? This rush means leaving vast amounts of experience and wealth left behind. The game is to be enjoyed, that's the reason for the development. Picking herbs in the very beginning increase needed for later. Fighting with Kunish increases Hand to Hand combat. Talking and exploring Skaltz and the people gives you additional knowledge. Selling items gives you money. Even stalking and lockpicking can be practiced all without penalty. If I were in in a hurry to finish the game in some record time, what's the point in even playing?

      You are free to play any way you wish. I absolutely think first time players should play the prologue at a natural pace. This guide is for repeated playthroughs, for people looking to get back to the open world quickly. (I added to my pinned comment, encouraging newbies to play blind) Anything you can grind out in skalitz can be done as fast or faster in the open world. Speech XP is the only thing you're truly losing. If that's important to you, then yeah, don't follow this guide. Skalitz is a railroad. Time doesn't pass, you lose if you go to jail, you can't sleep, vendors don't reset, etc. Nothing wrong with grinding skalitz, I certainly did it a few times. But seriously, wealth? You'll get like 400 groschen if you get everything out of the vendors. You can sell all the gear you steal if you wish but I can get richer in ledetchko faster. There are only a few things worth getting in the prologue and still you can get them all later. A bow from a guard, tight black hose from the bailiff, and the quartered combat jacket from the Chamberlain in Talmberg. So please, you do you, absolutely. Nothing but love. Personally, on my tenth playthrough, I'd like to maybe punch a different set of cows...

      Cause if you want an immersive experience at the start of the game but don't want to do the tutorial. Being overleveled god after slaughtering Skallitz is only so much fun after the 5th time.
