The saddest part for me is Jojo is actually love Dio despite all of the bad things he did. He thought he would end this dumb "siblings fight" but Dio survived and starts threatening his whole bloodline. If he live longer i think he would be so disappointed of himself for not end everything sooner but still trying to protect his family.

A friend of mine started watching JJBA with his girlfriend. At the end, when JoJo embraced Dio, he told me she said "after all that happened he couldn't bring himself to hate Dio. Why?". My friend told her: *"That's what good men do."* When Dio realized Jonathan had passed away, they both broke in tears. The day after that, my friend told me he was sold, "JJBA is great" is what he said to me.

Dio realized JoJo was the only other person besides his mother who truly loved him despite all of his flaws till death.

Its kind of sad because Dio probably couldve lived a good life with the joestars, jonathan couldve become a true brother to him. But in the end he chose this path and realises after losing everything that he had a chance at a good life and he wasted it

Call me crazy, but I think dio started offering him a shot at eternal life not because his life was threatened, but because he realized jojo truly cared for him and accepted him for the maniac he was, and as such, he didn’t truly want him to die. He wanted to live alongside him for the rest of eternity. Dio would’ve gotten jojos body anyways, he can’t drown, so why would he start offering him immortality if he’s in no real danger? I might be insane for this, but this might be the only time dio truly cared for an individual. Brotherly love is something that should be held onto, as it’s irreplaceable as it is eternal.

Part 1 is a goofy mess and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone wanting to get into jojo for the first time but this final scene between jojo and dio was perfect

I like to believe that Jonathon returned as star platinum to finally put a stop to Dio as their fates were one in the same

I really like how Dio's face isn't shown. It leaves it open to interpretation enough for us to think on how he felt at that moment. Jojo letting him go clearly wasn't that important since he was already barely alive. The fact that Dio offered to heal his wounds despite stealing his dead body easily, and Dio not harming Erina in the coffin, makes me think he was honest about his offer, or at least that he didn't wish for Jonathan to die as he realized at the very last second that he was murdering the only person left who genuinely cared about him. The fact that Dio openly desired to look for a true friend after being recovered one hundred years later just goes to show that he missed his brother, lest we forget they spent an entire decade on good terms prior to the poisoning of George, and only at Jonathan's deathbed did Dio discover those feelings of warmth and fraternal love Jojo had towards him to be true. With his brother's death by his own hands Dio is once again as alone as he was when his mother died.
