Is there any room for error in doing this, or is it an easy fix by an optometrist with at least 15 years of experience? Thanks in advance.
I’m having issues “threading” the wire to stay to my lens.
@@StevenBHorrorFan when you're threading your lens back into the wire, you have to make sure that the wire ends up inside the groove of the lens. It is easiest to do this from the temporal corner and then threading it towards the nasal corner. To do this, I typically use a thin piece of plastic, like one of those plastic wire that they sometimes use to wrap around boxes. If you have been able to thread it from side to side and the thread in the groove, and the lens still won't stay, then your thread is somehow too long and you'll have to undo one side pull it out a little tighter, and then put it back in. I hope this helps.
@@eyetalk1485 I realized I inserted the wire through the bottom hole on the wrong side lol. I now know to start pulling the wire in the bottom hole inward, then pull the wire through the top hole, from outside in. I got the wire somewhat in the groove of the lens, but when I started cutting excess wire, it came loose again 😂. I got the hang of it though so with practice I’m sure I can get it just right. Thanks for your help!
Please help me, I am an African black citizen hoe broke the my glasses. Some fat guy sat on it pleases ficks it.
Not for progressive!
Thank You!
I got my first pair and they gave me extra stuff to fix it if mine break me for both so glad I can be done at home
my frame has one hole for the wire on each side. what do I do?
Sorry to respond so late, technically you would need a special wire with a little stopper at the end. However, you can usually make this happen with your wire if you melted a little with a lighter at the very end, but be careful not to burn it too much. Once the end is melted a little if it creates a big bulb enough not to go through your whole great, if not, you can shape the melted plastic while it still hot to become a stopper. I hope this helps, good luck!
heyy thank you for this video but the problem with my glasses is a little different. the thing is the i think i sat o the corner of my glasses and the joint of the temple and the lens is crooked. it is tight so i cant move it but it doesn't sit right on my face and keeps bothering me. is there anyway to fix this without breaking anything.
Sorry to respond so late, I'm assuming you're frame is made of metal, if it's a regular type of metal and not a memory metal you should be able to bend it back. This may require a lot of force, and there is always a chance of snapping the material. If you were going to try to bend it, I recommend using two pliers and putting something soft in between the plier and the frame, as not to scratch the finish. If your frame is very thin, this may be hard to do either way, but it's probably the only way to straighten it out. Good luck.
@@eyetalk1485 it isnt metal im sure its a type of plastic
Man I wish my only problem was a missing screw. My entire hinge snapped so half of it is in the front part and the other half is deep inside the temple
1:33 I put super glue on the piece and put back in the leg. Worked just fine!
The holes in my lenses are too small. Should I enlarge them or Gorilla Glue the bridge?
great informations
Most eyeglass chains won't work on rimless glasses because if they break them they have to replace them. It's not that difficult to do yourself, especially with this video to guide you. I did it with the tools in my garage on a pair of older lenses, but ideally it's best to buy a repair kit to do it right. Just remember to protect your lenses from getting scratched by the tools. All parts and tools you need are readily available on ebay, Amazon, etc.
got it! Thanks mom!
The real problem for me is, I need my glasses to see well enough to fix the frame. Cheapy pair of readers did the trick
You made it look so simple, decided to give it a try. The hardest part was finding the right fishing pole to find some line that was a good match. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this video.
That's what I am dealing with right now. My husband sat on his glasses during a visit to rural England. We can only find 0.3 mm fishing line - is that sufficient thickness? The original one looks somewhat thicker, and I have seen comments that it needs to be 0.4-0.45. However, in one of the responses @eyetalk1485 said 20lbs was a good fit, and that's what the 0.3 mm was. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you!
thank you
Perfect explanation! Thanks of saving me $45 at the repair shop!
Very nice video, translating truely.
Just what I needed. Thanks.
Can I use steam from a tea pot?
This is brilliant!
could you please make a step by step tutorial on how to change the nails color from violet to dark red instantly?
How do you bend a metal frame like the plastic frame to fit the face
How do I know what size compression sleeves to use ? Thank you.
I wanted to leave a comment and thank you so much for making this video. I broke the wire on my glasses yesterday, and it's the only pair I have and can't really afford to get new glasses. This video helped me fix my glasses. It worked perfectly! Thank you so much!
Just like right now I love your videos bye
I just fixed my wifes glasses with 25 lb fishing line. I had to cut the line on an angle to get it in the hole. We just had it in the glasses store to adjust the fit. I hope it lasts . THANKS for your help!!!
Nice work!
I am an Egyptian optical technician. I can maintain all glasses and of course install them. I can even use a vision detector. I want to travel for work. Is there anyone who can help me?
i can fix that broken arm. i change the inner spring in the arm
and to think they charge more for a reglaze when it only takes 5 minutes to to this
Thank you so much indeed! I followed your steps, and was able to fix my glasses too. The lenses are expensive and I really did not know if the opticians could help me to repair them on site. So, with your help, what I did was just to measure the diameter of the nylon string, and bought a roll!
Glad it helped!
Thank you! I have a question, the plastic wire from the upper part of the frame can be replaced as well? Mine was shredded and i pulled it completly.
Hello there, so sorry for the very late response but yes, it can be fixed. It requires a new string that is called a figure 8, I don't think there is anything that you can use to replace it other than a new figure 8 line from an optical place.
Thank you! I've managed to find it and replace it.
Too hard - I'll try to super glue the part that broke
I just broke mine in the same way those are broken. Problem is the metal pins that slide into the plastic snapped off inside of the plastic. I don't see myself fixing them in this way when the structure of the arm is physically broken.
Looks like it's made to fail.
Thank you
Perfect! I need to do this to my Oakley Barrelhouse 0.5's
Great video. Thank you.
Optician here! This was super helpful; thank you!
Thankyou tip..
This is very helpful lmao I now have 3 pairs of spare glasses should one of my others break again
Thanks very much for the very clear instructions and for showing each step clearly in the video…I was able to fix my glasses!
Thanks so much! My glasses were so expensive I paid around £400 and the wire broke (i stepped on them by accident haha) I can finally fix them!!! :)
Ok thanks for your advice. Wish me luck Day 1.
Thanks to you, my float frames are good as new..easy step tutorial and was a big help 🤓, took care of this problem in no time
Thank you for the video 👍
nice explanation, Thank You...God bless
My new glasses sit crooked. The right side/lens sit further out on my face than the left side. Which part do I bend so I can bring the right side in closer (or the left out further)?
Beast level instructions. Thank you!!!
