Glad it’s a great place to work. Wondering why my monthly premiums went up 10% for the third year in a row, and the generic medications now cost $10 each instead of no copay, like the past 10 years or so. Premiums cost a lot more but no added benefits other than a free year of Noom., which thankfully, I don’t need.. This will likely be my last year with CareFurst BCBS.
I had a sore throat in November 2022. I logged into CloseKnit to see if they could help. They said they required a video chat to help with my sore throat. Before accepting I asked "How much does a video chat cost?" I knew that if it was going to cost what it would to go to a doctor in person I would do that instead. They came back and said "New Patient Focused Visit Cost Estimate Info ID # [redacted] PPO (BlueChoice) Covered at 100% Cost Estimate $0." Because it was explicitly written to me it was free, I accepted the appointment. It could not have been more of a waste of time. The doctor made me stand in different areas and lighting and try to hold the phone at an angle that she could see the back of my throat. She told me she couldn't see anything and even went so far as to ask if I was sure that I didn't have my tonsils removed. I am very sure I have never had them removed. She said since she couldn't see my throat she couldn't tell me she couldn't diagnose strep (for example). The idea that anyone could inspect the back of a throat through a video chat on a cell phone is silly. Then I got a bill for it!! I asked for help for months. No one could ever help. They then told me it was because there is a discrepancy on their end and would follow up. Their follow up was that I am still liable for the bill even though they told me it was $0 before I agreed to the visit, the visit was useless, and admitted it was a discrepancy on their end with CareFirst. The right thing to do is to cancel my bill considering this was their mistake not mine. I have demanded a breakdown of what I was billed for and awaiting it still waiting on it. Beware of this tele-health app. They can give you bad information and not stand behind their mistakes.
As a health insurance broker, I really appreciated this information and I'm more informed to help my community! Thanks
This is a good discourse
CareFirst should not have rolled out this app. They sent me an invitation but no PcPs in my area or services. Big waste of time. It's buggy and does not cover all states. Also, member and techsupport do not answer their phone. The poor quality of this app really makes me wonder if protected personal and healthcare data would be protected. If you install, suggest you test before you have a medical emergency.
I'm a 72 year old senior who has CareFirst A & B and get billed every month for medical and dental. Even when CareFirst made appointments for me, when I arrived at the dentist, they said they're full up or not taking new patients. I had to pay out of pocket $500. to get my tooth pulled. At CVS, they wouldn't take my CareFirst either and charged me $100. for my flu shot. A CareFirst rep told me that I could get my shot in Delaware or Pennsylvania. This didn't make sense to me since I live in Maryland. I tried to get reimbursed, at least partially but CareFirst gave me the run-around then said I couldn't be reimbursed because I didn't use their doctors. -CareFirst is useless to me; yet, I have to pay it twice a month or be fined by the federal government for not carry health insurance. (p.s. my pen name is Victoria Matthews. My real name is Constance Sammarco)
We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please leave your information at carefirst.com/ask so we may better assist.
I sure hope all the patients being dropped from Johns Hopkins can afford to find a prescriber in time and they dont go months without their meds as they and 100s of others scramble to find all new doctors by december 5 🤗🤗🤗🤗 super cool 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗😒
Too bad the exchanges aren't being leveraged enough.
I miss working at CFBCBS

Just saw this commercial for the first time today while watching the new episode of Family Guy, immediately hit pause, opened my browser, brought up youtube and searched for this commercial. Why? To see how many suckers there are with a clear misunderstanding of viruses, how they work, why you can't inoculate against most of them and how "the shot" can be dangerous, in that your body never gets a chance to develop its natural defenses (immunities and antibodies). No doubt there are those with weaker or compromised immune systems; they MIGHT benefit from "the shot". This proposed idea that EVERYONE need get vaccinated is grossly irresponsible. I realize not everyone has a... uhh, "person" (not allowed to say who) 'affiliated' with the CDC who knows... uhh, "stuff" (again, not allowed to say. which is weird, right?) that need be privately spoken in hushed tones because... well, for the same reason this comment will undoubtedly be removed... if you're not sick, healthy, young(ish) and not high risk; there's absolutely no reason to get "the shot". To be clear; I'm not an against vaccines. I don't believe vaccines cause autism. Ok? Ok. Nonetheless, don't take mine or anyone else word as gospel; do research. There's plenty of research out there, much of which contradicts itself... because viruses and vaccines are complicated subjects. Anyone trying to simplify it while providing a solution suspect. It's called "a conflict of interest". I expect this comment will be removed. I took a screen shot. Educate yourself people. Right now and always, educate yourself and your community.
Is this the commercial to try to get everyone to take it because it’s “good for you”?
Very informative!
It was an honor taking part in this commercial! “This is our shot to leave COVID behind.”
Thanks for being a part of this important message, Christy! 💙
Why would you say that and then put on your mask as you walk away? How is that ending COVID
But I need you to do something for me
One of the best commercials of Super Bowl LV! Well done! An important message effectively told!
Thank you, Jim. As a healthcare company, we have a responsibility to educate people about the safety of the COVID-19 vaccines and the important role they play in ending the pandemic. 💙
