This reminds me of “Accent Drops”, a pretty standard rudimentary grid used in the marching arts. We changed the accents to flams, diddles, pressed buzzes, and also turned the grid into paraddidles or doubles, making it very useful and versatile!
for sure, very similar
🔥🔥🔥
this is actually kinda cool
This is amazing! Might do it for my recital. May I ask, what inspired you to make a solo piece with electronic accompaniement?
I’m one handed how do you hold two sticks in one hand?
@@VEe-c5x check out "Burton grip" via Google search. You should be able to find some good info!
@@CaseyCangelosi thank you
what is the marimba in this clip?
this is some truly awesome stuff, probably one of the best written for 4.3 octave marimba
Turn signal music
Some get this man in a room with venjent
For me, it makes perfect sense what the difference is, without explanation. It's pretty much in the name. Polyrhythm means "many rhythms", Polymeter means "many meters (i.e. time signatures)". Therefore, a 5:4 polyrhythm is playing 5 notes in the time of 4 notes, which, if you subdivide the pattern into groups of 20, a 5:4 rhythm will be played at 1, 5, 6, 9, 11, 13, 16, 17 and back to 1. A 5:4 polymeter however, is like playing 5/4 over a 4/4 beat. For example, playing a repeated pattern of 5 crotchets.
Tasty
He makes it look so easy bruh...

You are genuinely one of the most creative musicians I’ve ever seen. Thank you for sharing your work with the world!
So nice to see you using traditional grip. I still teach this as my main grip for snare and drum kit. Keep up the amazing work! Quit stealing my licks!!! lol!!!
hahaha thanks, Manny! It's not always my go-to, but traditional grip has always felt great
we cannot have this... willy nilly!!
Bravo!!
I have reached a limit of 400 bpm in 1/16 while studiyng this piece. The recording goes well above 450 bpm. Yeah i ain't risking my tendons😂
Im curious, what are you using for the electronic sounds?
Cannot wait to see the full piece.
BRAVO CASEY !!!! WHAT MODEL RIDE ZILDJAN YOU USE !!!!!!
Nice
good god...

How strange sounding!
Casey you are the coolest -Parker
Locked doors flung open, light streaming in! Thank you Casey 😊
Currently learning this its an absolute beast of a solo
I just know that I'm going to absolute adore this one already.
8:10 0-100 very quick
1:41 love this so much
my brain hurts...
Casey what instrument are you writing for it sounds like a camera?
Such a clear and applicable explanation. Thank you so much
What’s the instrumentation?
This is what makes me believe that music is pure magic. Thanks! Gracias!
Thanks for your sharing!
It seems like a duet!
Yes indeed!
@@CaseyCangelosi can’t wait to see it I’ve been looking to play something with a buddy of mine
What software do you use Casey?
Hi, I notate with Finale and use Reaper for audio
@@CaseyCangelosi thank you!
Such an interesting piece! Beautiful to listen to and so fun to watch you play. Thanks for sharing!
Odd question: did the chains mark erode the cymbal at all?
Good question - nothing that I noticed. The chain is light and secured such that it doesn't move much
@CaseyCangelosi didnt notice it was secured... I'll have to play with this. Trying stacked cymbals and not loving it.
This one is killer. That single dotted quarter note just makes it so much more intricate
I quit every Saturday and start again every Monday
Where is the sheet music for this?! I would love to learn it!!
Thank you! Sheet music store at Www.caseycangelosi.com Prints and PDF options available
What the fuck….. fantastic!
Immenso Casey👍👍
You are such a genius, Casey!
Amazing ❤
