Many thanks for this video. I flew on these planes in '98 and '99 when I was a kid. It was awesome to hear the engine sound, I felt like I'm sitting on the same plane again! I don't know why, but these planes were much more stable than the A320s today, they handled the turbulences much smoother.

The engine covers to the wing appear to be a bit cjattered.

...my late brother, Tim. came to us from Ireland in November 1954 on an Aer Lingus Connie...I remember going with mom & dad (in our 1952 Dodge Coronet) 70 years ago to pick him up at Idlewild...

The old DC-10 had a troubled past, but I loved flying on them. Much like the L1011, the DC-10 was so roomy in economy class that you felt like you were in a small movie theater. The aircraft would creak and moan while it was taxiing, but she flew effortlessly and those three engines could put you solidly back in your seat when the power was advanced.

All these people "singing the praises" of the L-188. I guess everyone has forgotten the wings always fell off. Oh my.
