Minn Kota Ultrex troll motor inspection and repair
Our Ultrex troll motor wouldn't budge which we didn't realize until after we got out onto the lake. After doing a little inspection we decided it needed to be rebuilt. We removed the pedal and motor and sent it off to get rebuilt. If you're having a similar issue with your troll motor this video will help with troubleshooting, disassembling the troll motor for repair, and pairing the troll motor when installing the unit.

Don’t overtighten on the re-install.
It doesn’t matter lol. The housing tightens up on its own. I have a 2017 Yamaha f70 it’s a pain in the ass to remove also. I had a mercury 60hp and don’t recall it being trouble to remove.
@@Fishing85 I have the same motor- F70 LA. Hand tight is plenty. They don’t leak, and they come right off every spring.
Just snugged it hand tight. Let the gasket do the work.
Never had a mercury before but would love to try one!
