Thanks for visiting the "Tonya, with the flowers." organic gardening channel. In the garden, I will answer some of the most common "gardening for beginners" type questions I get, including growing flowers from seed. Growing greens, growing flowers, and planting beautiful organic food is something I'm really passionate about. Thank you for joining me as I learn to grow flowers, cut flowers, vegetables, and much more. 'Tonya, with the flowers.' CZcams channel and related media are for entertainment purposes only.
Many ornamental flowers and cut flowers are TOXIC. ALWAYS do your own research and take responsibility for the plants that you introduce around your kids, pets, and everyone else. Use common sense when handling plant materials: wear gloves, always wash hands, avoid contact with face, etc. NEVER consume any plant which has not been positively identified with complete certainty to be safe and edible. Before planting anything, research to determine whether specific flowers are considered invasive where you live or if there are laws that apply to their planting in your area.

    • @TONYAwiththeflowers
      @TONYAwiththeflowers Před 7 dny

      I've never given them any special treatment. Picking them before they fully open is best for storage and helps a lot with vase life. I let most of mine open completely for the video, and they still looked nice in a vase for nearly a week. Hope that helps! 🌱🌱🌱

    You just convinced me to NEVER EVER grow ranunculus!! Why the Heck would anyone go through such a NIGHTMARE every single year! And after all the hard work if aphids, thrips, and all the other insects don't kill them, you have to pray to God the temperature doesn't dip down to winter temps of zero or below, in the winter! And if it does dip below zero, once again, all of your time, money, effort, and hardwork, is for naught! I am a gardner, and a huge plant, tree, shrub, and flower lover, and I think ranunculus are one of the most beautiful flowers. But I had no idea they were such a nightmare to grow! And who in the world has that much time, not to mention, money, labor, energy, worry, and effort, to invest in re-growing something every year that you cannot even EAT! Especially when there are so many other beautiful flowers that are not such pain in the a** prima donnas to grow! And worse yet, even if they survive the bugs and the winter temps, you have to replant them every single year. But the prettiest ranunculus are patented, and you cannot regrow the patented flowers! Make it make sense~just thinking about it makes my head and heart ache! Surely, there has to be an easier, better~ way, to grow these gorgeous flowers?!

    Excellent job of photographing and editing! This is great and I don’t think anyone could have done a better job. It must have been an insane amount of effort and work. Thank you so much! Love 💕 your flowers. ❤😊🤗

    This season I decided to spruce my house up and just bought a few packs of seeds of what looked like nice plants (turned out to be zinnias) to fill a bunch of new pots i never used, now let me tell you, these are anything BUT low maintenance, so people really need to stop saying this because it's far from the truth. It seems that they get way too high and top-heavy for their own good, any storms will snap branches off. It's claimed they love the sun all day?, NOT TRUE!!!, all sun will absolutely cook them and you'll come home to find them limped over laying on the ground with brown and yellow leaves, now let's talk about the leaf mildew YES THEY WILL GET POWDERY WHITE MILDEW THAT HAS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF OR YOUR PLANT WILL CROAK!!! I planted a load of these without knowing anything except seeds+dirt+Sun+ water= flowers, well lemme tell ya, I've been babysitting these things like a toddler. They have to be watered everyday in the summer and if it's really hot out, expect to come home from work to find them limped over and on the ground and maybe some with even crack off and break, I've had to use a few wire trellis and tons of wire-ties to keep them up, I had to make a mixture of baking soda-white vinegar-water and a surfactant to spray on the mold constantly. Yes, they are really nice and hardy plants that give endless bouquets, so much so that I've been giving them to neighbors, but you better be retired and home all day because they need constant attention so you better be prepared to marry these things.😢
