After watching the Elvis 2022 movie with Austin Butler i have more and more respect for Charlie Hodge. I'm glad that the movie acknowledged him and gave his character some dialogue. But if you look at concert footage, rehearsal footage, etc. you can see the genuine love and respect they had for one another. You'd have to be blind not to notice that. You can only do so much for the people you love with suggestion but it's up to that particular person (EP) to in fact accept that they indeed have a drug problem and take your advice. I can only imagine how helpless his entire entourage felt at that time. You can't force a grown man to do something he doesn't want to do. God Bless you Charlie Hodge and RIP.

The Book "Destined to Die Young" by Sally A Hoedel I recommend all Elvis Fans read as it has been "thoroughly" researched about Elvis inherited Health issues especially from his Mothers Smith side which had a short life expectancy. Some of Elvis's health issues were before he was famous. His daughter Lisa Marie inherited his Colon problems. This is all in the book with illustrations, family tree charts etc backs up what Charlie Hodge says here & he lived at Graceland till the day Elvis died. Billy Smith too his 1st cousin(still alive) would know all this. He answers Fans questions on Elvis Fans Matter on you tube.

I Think Without You should have been easy for Elvis to sing however Elvis may not have developed the emotions required at that time in his life, as life went on Elvis was very emotional and he could convey it in his voice.
