I am a professional full time musician. I also write and record my own albums. Basically... I am a music junkie. On this channel I will be sharing videos on me covering some of my favorite songs, as well as some requests. Doing random geek out fan boy album review vlogs about some of my favorite albums. I will also use it to try to promote my own CDs and songs. Being heard is hard. Reaching people is difficult. Everyone has short attention spans and thinks music should be free. So this channel will help share a little bit about how much music means to me and , hopefully, turn a few people on to my own stuff.

It's interesting you say about Nickelback, because... I just got into them recently. My mom is a huge NB fan and has been since I was born, and I listened to all their albums except their newest one, and my fav is actually The Long Road. Flat on the Floor is my fav song of all time by them. I don't really get why people love All The Right Reasons but Far Away is a good song and it makes me cry, but the disgust you feel for Figured You Out is what I have for Animals. 😝 I just can't get into it. Don't like songs like that. Yuck. Don't like Figured You Out, Rockstar, Animals, Something in Your Mouth, etc. But they don't deserve the hate they have received for the last 20 years. When Chad isn't trying to sound like an AI trying to do a Southern accent because it thinks that what Country sounds like, he's otherwise not bad. My mom was right. Nickelback isn't *that* terrible.

How is it I've missed this review for so many years? I don't even know if you're around on youtube anymore. Really enjoyed this review, and totally agree. It does have a country pop flavor, which I like, probably because he co-wrote Down with Rascal Flatts bassist Jay DeMarcus, and that may have influenced the tone of the album. And All Hands On Deck kind of has a Rocky Top vibe to me. When I first started to digest this album, I was OBSESSED with Miss Mayhem. I LOVE that one. Man, don't get me started on talking about Rick Springfield. I could talk about his music ALL. DAY.
The record he put out two months ago is probably my favorite thing he's done since the classic early 80s stuff.
@@jacepawlak Yes, so good, and as always, a surprising artistic direction. You never know what he's going to do next - pop country, indie rock, blues, EDM. As I'm sure you know by now, he did most of it himself, but the female back up singer, Windy something I think, I don't have the liner notes handy, but her voice is so complimentary to his, it just sounds great. My new obsession is Love Ain't Cool. I LOVE that one. Some of his more casual fans have been clutching their pearls over Works For Me (oh, did he have to be SOO graphic? Did he have to use THAT word?? Not necessary, don't expect that from Rick, etc.), but they probably haven't seen him live or read his autobiography. It's astounding how folks still see him as a teen idol, meaning an artist whose music, lyrics, stage show, etc. is geared toward and designed for female children, when that was NEVER who he was as an artist. Well, don't mean to talk your ear off (or eyes out, as the case may be). Like I said, I could talk about Rick's music all day! Glad you like the new album!
