Depends on which international carrier you enter Indonesia with. I've taken a camera drone into Indonesia 3 times, twice to Raja Ampat via Jakarta, once into Sulawesi via Singapore. Via Jakarta no problems but drone & especially the batteries needed to all be in carry on. On the Singapore route the carrier insisted the drone (even though it was only a DJI Mini 3 Pro) was in the hold luggage but the batteries were separately carried in carry on, as though any one would attempt to fly a drone in the cabin of the aircraft! Always check carriers' regulations regards taking drones on flights beforehand on their internet sites & you should be good to go, but all drone batteries MUST be in carry on.

Unfortunately way too much. The last few months coral bleaching has increased significantly, and I'm afraid Raja Ampat is in big trouble.

Hi Levon. The Liveaboards in Raja Ampat is usually 7 to 12 days. Some even longer. Your trip is too short. That's why you can't find any options. And no, you can not book a liveaboard on the spot. If you only want to stay for a few days only, your best option is to find a homestay. You'll need to get a ferry from Sorong to Waisai, and from there your homestay can arrange transport to their island.

Yes that is true. The window was also actually in two parts, but the one pillar broke to form just one big window. Maybe when the rock broke, it also broke off many of the coral.

Yes there were. We actually found a few nudibranchs and Robust ghost pipefish in the shallows. But I've been told the pipefish are only there if there are many feather stars

Yes, you can dive in Komodo with only open water certification, BUT my recommendation is to for sure try to get more experience before you go. I've seen it many times ... divers with not much experience does not enjoy the dives in Komodo that much, because they concentrate on their capabilities when underwater. To fully enjoy these site, you need to be able to fully relax in difficult situations, like very strong currents.

Yes, the current can get really strong there. It's the same for all the dive sites in Komodo

This video was done with a Gopro 7 Black. The important settings to remember is the white balance. Have that on "Native" and use a flat colour profile. It's also important to use a red filter if you don't have video lights. I also did some colour correction when I edit the video.

You are 100% correct. But this dive site has so much more to offer.

I honestly don't remember the dive centre name we used. But I do know there are at least two dive centres in that area. The centre we used did tell us that we are lucky not to have too much current. Apparently it can get VERY dodgy to dive there during full and new moon.

Sharks and mantas are there all the time.
