I was here 1959 - 1960 50 th TAC fighter group F100 D

Stationed at 'Flugplatz' Hahn 73-77. Lived in Blankenrath for a while, then Sohren, then the God awful green toned down camouflaged base housing. Remember the Elephant Walks in this area and the roar (and a crash) of the F-4 Phantom's along the top of the Hunsrück.

I spent 2 years of my life there. Looks a little different. Was at the 38th MDS at WAS. Great times there. Looking for Harold “Doc” Docherty. 1989-1991

Rich, I have a VHS tape now on DVD of me in the room and everyone playing football outside there it looks like. (I was making a mix tape). I was roomys with Jim Yarhling. I think he’s still there. Let me know if you’d like a copy. I’ve got a bunch of tapes from 1989-1991. 🇺🇸🫡

Good memories there living in the post office dormitory 1990 1991. 2184th? Comm squadron ATC

That blows my mind that there's a highway right in the middle of the domed concrete tab vee shelters at the beginning. That was an ultra high security area when I was there in '79-'80. As I look at those tab vee's I remember working at 3am in the dead of winter with it -20deg F. Completely dark, dead silent, strange arc lighting, working alone in the freezing cold on some part of an F4. But that was the most secure land in the world at the time and now there's a public highway 50 yards away from where I worked alone in the dark. I can't believe that that moment then became this reality now.

We lived on the base from 1962 to 65.

Yep. It sucks. Dorm 303 was next to the chow hall (mostly closed when I was there) and the post office was directly across the street and to the left. 50 SPS 1989 - 1992

What memories.... I lived in these dorms so long ago. But, we made these rooms so colorful with German Tapestries, good stereos/sound systems & friendships. Thank you for sharing.

Those dorms were built when I arrived there in 1988. I had several coworkers who lived in those dorms and I spent many hours there between living off base with my wife who I am still married to. I was in CES heavy equipment and paving.
