I remember going to the theater and watching this on three screens together creating this giant screen 📺

Probably one of the most beautiful movies ever made.

This music reminds me of my Aunt. She was born in 1899. I was born in late 55' and for the first years of my life she raised me. One of my favorite memories of her was of her getting me outside to enjoy the Texas sun ( after 4 pm) and learning how to dance The Charleston! Couldn't speak a word of English and a petite little thing but could she move! ❤

Thank you for sharing this! I have the cd recording and heard it back in the 90s. Last night, I listened to the newest recording from 2011, but as this was my first recording, I enjoy it more.

Love this movie, it is so uplifting watching how their faith saw them through. The music is so touching too.

The film was a cult classic. I first saw it at New Community Cinema, Huntington, NY at their first location over a storefront on Main Street when there were no theater seats, just old couches. The fire department closed them down but they reopened at a former elementary school on Woodhull Ave.

A shout out to The London Symphony Orchestra who made the soundtrack !

Very sturring soundtrack-of course, a movie like this could never be made by the woke regime we live under..genocide, murders of native Americans, patriotism ("Shenandoah", "Battle Hymn of the Republic"); it is horrible!

Thank you so much for this upload. Like many here I have been searching for this soundtrack in a relatively modern format for over a decade now with no such luck. Tedd Smith's composition for "The Hiding Place" I would say is every bit as beautifully haunting and loaded with emotional heft as the great John Williams' work for the soundtrack of "Schindler's List". When I think about this work I almost inevitably feel a pang of dissatisfaction knowing that so few are aware of it. I let as many people as I can know about it whenever talks of great soundtracks comes up. Thanks to you Robert, I can point those people to a quickly and easily accessible portion of the movie's soundtrack that I'd been speaking about.

Alf Drake was one of the legends of musical theatre, and this performance proves it.

Despite the bad marketing for this movie on the Biography of Ms Gretude Lawrence, it has the most changes in Dresses: it's still Ms Julie Andrew's superb performance that's a saving grace!!!

Yes,I thought "Star" was a very,very good movie and did Not receive the credit for how well it was done, unfortunately.A biography of Gertrude Lawrence was a Very Sound undertaking by Robert Wise,and Julie Andrews,Daniel Massey and Richard Crenna.I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and the number,"Jenny" was One FANTASTIC part of the movie.All the dance sequences had me truly amazed that Ms.Andrews could do,such physicality in those dance sequences,I think choreographed by Michael Kidd A Very Good,Good movie🙏🙏🙏🙏♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
