I am buying this. Instead of another cymbal I play jazz drums.. I do have an epiphone Riviera laying in a guitar case gathering dust along with a Peavey classic 50 tube head with a 6 by 10 inch speaker cab. Not to mention a notation mininova. Music is fun so I plan to enjoy Ravish the sitar simulator. Even get out my Heet e-bow. Been about 20 years. Hope the 9 volt still is good. Drone away.

I think the only difference is the transistor in the grit section.

good job, but u forget keep in mind that NOT everyone is digitaly F..... up to follow ur speedy skip and fancy fingering this beautiful and yet WAY too expensive/worthless device.🥴

Throughout my 50 years of playing Shadows tunes, I have tried and used every reverb/delay unit that came on the market (we called them Echo chambers). Not until I got this Strymon El Capistan a few years ago, could I ever find one that produced the type of reverberation I needed for that kind of music.

Thanks for this nice démo. Unfortunately you did not show the effect of pré/post on filter effect. In my case no env+ effect at all if the Mobius is in the loop. It took me some time to find it out. I dont know the reason why. Someone has got an Idea? Autowah works well in front of the Amp or in the loop. Strange.

It reminds me of being at the circus ! I can even smell the popcorn and cotton candy !😁👍

Awesome review! Helped understand all the modes and power that it holds. So in the end use, it means you can switch between all those customized presets and banks while playing live without touching any knows only the pedal 🤔

Thanks for this video the other demos are just sounds and no explanation - exactly what I needed in order to make a decision. I'm on the fence with the pedal pawn Silicon fuzz- sounds amazing maybe even better than this but less versatile and more money. Any thoughts? Nice work :)

The limiter is harder and brighter. The C4 is surprisingly open, but definitely darker and of the Ross lineage. Together, a match made in tonal Utopia. Well, working class wages Utopia... Kudos for the use of the mighty Psi! I love mine to death

Thanks for this. It's probably the best 808HW demo I've seen, and it tells me that this is probably not the pedal I'm looking for...at least on its own. I'm looking for something smoother and creamier, although this might work for serious, feedback level distortion. John Jorgenson uses one in combination with a TS5 when he wants that infinite sustain, harmonics-rich wailing, so I can't rule out the 808HW for that application. Thanks again for a very useful and informative run-through of the 808HW.

Can I just plug it in to an 18 v power supply?

Thanks for laying out the basics here! I was able to get this working pretty well when it was just Ableton and the Timeline (had to get my other midi devices out of the chain). The only thing blocking me is that the CC connections in the clips get lost when i exit out of Ableton and restart the project. Automation gets saved to the CC#s, but i have to reconnect those CC#s to each clip every time i restart the project. I'm guessing there's some simple thing i'm missing that's so simple not one video or tutorial i've found thinks to mention it. Has anyone else run into this or does all this stuff just save naturally when you 'save project'?

Hi, great demos of both the Voltage Doubler and the three pedals! Really well done. I recently bought the SL so now have all three of these and would really value some input on whether it's okay/safe or not recommended to use a single Xotic VD with a 3 connection daisy chain to power all three of these pedals? I can't find anything on internet about this or in the manuals. Thanks! 🙂

Modern high gain devices remove the music from notes. This thing is rational. It makes music.

Even some circuits that are flat and lifeless on guitar sound great with bass,- especially the Muff and Superfuzz types. As you say, it's a waste to confine this to bass; ironically, it has a much broader range than any of JHS's guitar intended pedals.Never be afraid to try whatever with whatever,- that's how new circuits are born. This has the better qualities of the Series 3, with better low end.

I know it's been years since you posted this... but thanks for the great review and education in end of chain use.
