Man, people sure are judgmental of flawed female characters... We learn Ana Lucia is a cop, and she was also RAISED by a cop. That tells us EVERYTHING about her character and worldview. Then the group is mad that she reacts with fear and violence? "Why didn't she just say "I'm sorry. I made a mistake."" ... LOL WUT??? ... are cops completely different in Brazil than they are in the USA...? It's like asking why doesn't a fish play the piano.

I don't think the horse is the same horse that was in the road in front of the Marshalls car. I don't think that is Walt sending the message via the computer. I don't think Wayne was somehow inside of Sawyer. I don't think the button is some kind of mind game experiment, I always thought it really did something, first time watching I just didn't know what, but it did something.

- Although first degree murder and insurance fraud are serious crimes, maybe Kate's initial crime alone wouldn't alarm the legal authorities enough to send a marshall to Australia, let's say if she just directly flew to Australia after killing Wayne without even an encounter with any police or anybody. But a long time fugutive who escaped by assulting a marshall during her transfer, later planned & committed an armed bank robbery and shot people (even though they were her partners in crime), partially caused an innocent person's death by not complying with police's stop order in an other escape attempt, who also probably did a lot of side crimes creating fake IDs, stealing (like food, small amounts of many, maybe cars, to be able to survive and/or get away) etc for all her fugutive years, and maybe other crimes we don't know... could create enough heat to send the marshall to Australia even if the marshall wasn't obssessed at all... in my opinion of course, I have no idea how USA law works... - That said, I agree that the marshall was somewhat obssesed with Kate, he was already interested in her case before her first escape, because I think he found her story interesting but he probably took the 1st escape quite personal which was quite emberrassing for him. I mean an unexperienced 24 year old girl managed to escape from him. Then, I think her ability to stay a fugutive without being arrested and other crimes she managed to pull off, made him more and more interested and finally obssesed in her... But I don't think it's a sexual/romantic obsession, just a somewhat whacky policeman's obsession to arrest this fascinating criminal girl and maybe interrogate her personally to get more of her story in 1st hand... I think Marshall's "she's got you, too" comment to Jack, wasn't about his own feelings. He knows she uses men to get what she wants, we've already seen she used her childhood lover to reach to her mother and he risked everything for her and died, she also used some dude for her bank robbery attempt. So the marshall knows she's charming and attractive and she uses that to her advantage, and men are not immune to her appeal at all. She even got the sympathy of the old Australian farmer (not the same way, but still). That's the reason of that comment; he thinks she found another man to use to her advantage and another man has fallen to that... - There's always one discusion about Kate and Wayne; did Wayne sexually abuse Kate or made any attempts? Kate sincerely refuses he touched her to the marshall and I tend to believe her because in the end, speaking to "Wayne", she doesn't say "what you did to me" or anything like that, she just says "the way you looked at me" This brings up the question; were those looks really in a sexual nature? I tend to think they were not; I thnk Wayne knew Kate is really her biological daughter considering he also knows Kate's mother's husband was on duty when they were having sex and he could also easily do the math from Kate's birth back to conception date. But I think Kate's mother told him to keep his mouth shot about this because she always knew the other man as her father. So, he's not allowed to openly express his love to her daughter, that might have caused those weird looks Kate's talking about. That brings me to his "you're beautiful" comment and more importantly "won't you take my pants off" comment at the beginning of the episode, just before his death. I know that line sounds quite sexual but I tend to think it was that twisted dude's totally weird drunk attempt to share a fatherly/daughterly moment with his daughter. How is that a non-sexual fatherly/daughterly attempt? You know kids take care of their parents when old and/or sick or in need... They help them eat, help them walk, help them change clothes, even give them a bath, etc... I think drunk Wayne, who was beginning to get quite old, and who wasn't able to openly connect with her daughter all his life despite being around her for a long time; was desperetaly trying to create such a "taking care" moment with his daughter which resulted in him saying something unintentionally very creepy. He was really trying to say "won't you take care of your father?" in a way... I'm totally not saying this to make anyone sympathize with Wayne, he's a piece of shit, no doubt about it but I think he's not considering sexually abusing his daughter. I think he would already do that after all those years if something like that was in him. Kate looking upset when he makes that "beautiful" line is not about abuse, it's because she just figured out he's his father, she knows he's trying to show fatherly love and that also makes her sick as she explained to "Wayne" in the end...

It's never occurred to me before, but I wonder why Kate's 'dad' (Sam Austen) didn't try a bit harder to get custody of Kate. He was, after all, married to her mother at the time of her birth and I'm sure it wouldn't have been that difficult to prove in court that Wayne and Diane were not fit to parent her. But we do know that he was always present in her life...she tells Jack that she learnt her tracking skills from him and that they would spend hours in the woods (which were 'his religion') together.

Very early comment about Hurley's thumbs up: People always say Hurley is the voice of the audience, meaning he always says what the audience wants to say. And the reaction to that scene shows clearly he's not only the voice but also the "body gesture" of the audience too... The crew all were trying to find words to express their "thumbs up" for Jin, and Hurley did it perfectly :D

One of the many things I love about this crew is how intuitive they are. They pick up on so many things straight away...things that some reactors I've watched still don't seem to fully understand even after they've watched the entire show! These reactions are to die for ❤

21:28 you misunderstood Eko's remark: "don't mistake coincidence for fate (faith)" is particularly stingy towards Locke, who always looks for signals to follow blindly. It is in fact a deeply skeptic sentence. I guess it's easy to mix the messages when for the whole episode Eko proved to be way more a believer (this time in a religion, not an island) than Locke himself. It is one of the best moments of Lost, because it can be applied to virtually every scene of the show. Rodrigo, I'm conflicted about you telling them about what Walt was really saying to Shannon. It's obvious his words were manipulated, we know they were reversed, and in 2005 people reversed back to let us know what Walt really meant. It could change the group's outlook on the matter, one way or another

I don't want to say too much, but that discussion at the end was 'really' good! This group is definitely going to keep up better than most reactors in the seasons to come.

I have to admit one thing. And I might make myself some enemies here. Feel free to disagree. But I've watched Lost COUNTLESS times now. And I've been thinking about this episode quite a lot. And I've come to the conclusion that, maybe Kate's dad wasn't hitting on her at the beginning of the episode. (4:40) I mean, sure, being violent to Diane, Kate's mother is horrible enough, but I thought for quite a long time, that the drunk @-hole was actually even hitting on his daughter. As if he was attracted to her. Which really is some of the most disgusting, repulsive stuff, I could imagine. So I was like "You go, girl!" To Kate and what she did here. For the longest time... But then I kept thinking about it. And I went my own, turbulent way through addiction, too. And I began to think: Wayne was a total alcy, no question. He sure had a TON of problems. So... Maybe.... He really was just proud that Kate was his daughter.... 🤔🤷‍♂️ Maybe he really just wanted to tell her how beautiful he thought she was. Alcys can be very strange and tough to read. They don't have conventional coping skills and also often times not the ability to express themselves normally. So, I started thinking, maybe Wayne wasn't even all that evil after all..... This is what life does to someone. 😅 Sometimes... But maybe I'm wrong. I've also gone on record quite a few times, defending the heck out of Christian Shephard, Jack's dad. I completely understand that dude.... I've been sober myself for 16 months now. Proudly counting. Analyzing, reflecting. Kinda became a hobby of mine.... 🤭

I always forget that this is not an early season 2 episode. 😅 We've had SO much stuff happen already, the hatch, the tail section, Shannon. In my memory, this episode always was like episode 3 or so. I remember so vividly, throughout season 1, EVERYONE wanted to know what Kate did and I always felt like "early season 2". Now, this is one of the HUGE questions we can finally cross off the list, but it's an important one. For me, as a Kate defender, anyway. 😅 Now, we still have to find out how Locke ended up in a wheelchair..... 🤔
