Paying homage to the great and tragically late Mr. Erick Purkhiser of the Cramps, the inventor of Psychobilly and a respected and much-loved icon in the Punk, Goth and Rockabilly worlds. Dedicated to K. M. Wallace aka Poison Ivy Rorschach, his wife and guitarist of thirty-seven years, as well as his brothers Ron and Mike Purkhiser. A Kafka like portrait. I'm so sorry that Shane has passed away. 😥
This is boss
❤❤❤
beautiful version from a beautiful band. Minor threat does a killer version ❤
That photo is at Dean Jeffries shop off Cahuenga. He’s no longer with us, I imagine he’s hangin’ with Lux, but he created lots of cool Hollywood cars like The Monkee Mobile and The Manta Ray. These photos where with his vehicles from Damnation Alley and Electra Woman & Dyna Girl.
I was the 6,666 view of this video at 4:20 FUCK YEAH!!!
🖤
I saw the Cramps in 86 in Hull UK.At the end of the show,Lux ripped the floorboards up with his bare hands and dissapeared headfirst through the hole he made in the stage. Also i belive some of those scars on his chest came from smashing empty wine bottles on his chest during that gig. It was a hell of a show.
Amazing, I wish I could've seen them. Thanks for sharing that.
10yrs late 🍻💊🍻
sometimes they whear ramones tshirts
Lux Interior was the real deal.

Thank you for sharing ! Do you have anymore forgotten songs? This is great quality. I used to have this on vinyl and a bunch of other lost tracks and rarities and bootlegs but lost them over the years . Please post some more of you can
Glendale Calif. It was a great place to grow up in the 80s especially seeing Lux Interior and Poison Ivy at the local gas station. Then seeing the Cramps at the Hollyweird Palladium . Grab a 40oz beer & skate to the gig. How I survived without getting run over is beyond me.
Across the dark and dusty plain Where scars of old dry rivers run Night unfolds, a coal black shroud Across the hard and stony ground Distant stars shining bright In the cavern of the night All is still and silence screams To the thunder of the Lorca train Flaming steal swift as wind Wires hum the rails ring Smokestack burning fiery sparks Rise up to the stars Towns asleep by empty roads Churches rise from crooked roofs Cloaked in darkness nothing stirs Grow smaller darker disappear See the moon so still and cold A million stars that shed no warmth Your nightmares all come out to play In the silver light Wait for sunrise in the east Long shadows crawl across the plain The ghosts of night will disappear And lay your fears to rest Steam hissed up, the hot coals glowed The furnace blazed, the wheels they rolled On tracks of iron, straight and cold The silver moonlight danced The flames are in the fireman's eye Orange in the engines glow Gleaming pistons whirling cranks Wait for dawn the rooster's crow
Great vocalist!! I love Mick!!
pure poetry in motion
Dedicated to the love of my life Margarita Lorca!
Like it. But miss that little er declamation at the end of the original.
White is the new Black Good guy
This is BITCHIN'!

The brass section worked with most of the 2tone ans Stiff bands

LOVE IT ! Never heard THEIR cover. (The Nomads also do a great version)
Nomads' version is my favorite (next to The Standells original)
He is the template on which Malcolm McLaren based his Punk store. Ripped jeans, worn in look, spiked hair, vocal style, guitar playing...ALL used to make Sex Pistols. True original Punk!
This was when the N.Y. music hit its Apex , all those clubs , all of music , and all of the bands , what a mind blogging time it was .
ive never heard a clean copy of this record besides his.
this is how I got a sister

"Everyone you ever saw indulging in squeeze", is that what he says? What can you take out of that? I didn't knew "squeeze" could be a substantive if I'm hearing him right.
he means everyones huggin and kissin and making love!
@@williamk3702 Thanks!
Listening to this takes me back to standing at the front of the Cambridge corn exchange in November 1977 and Richard Hell and the voidoids came on as support for the Clash, they were fucking brilliant
I bought this album when it was new and I could never understand why they used that "alternative version," Best song on the album by one of the very best bands of its time.
Top 5 fav. albums.
