EP 83: Single Mom's car repair test run
We do the first test run for repairing Single Mom's cars. these are folks who came to the Church Ministry and we will make repairs on their cars.
I also do lots of other things this month, like repair the ATV, demonstrate a new fast composter system, and finally get to light the burn pile. Of course we see some of the critters on the farm in their natural habitats.

    Thanks for the video. Nice job. Looking at the 3pt stabilizer arms, you might want to flip the plate as there can be some PTO interference with the plate and the PTO cover when using those arms rather than the turn buckles.

    Some serious shitty ALUMINIUM wire. That shitsy Aluminium wire should never have been allowed to be used for electrical wire. Copper is what should allways be used. it is far superior and causes far fewer fires.

    • @GoingBright
      @GoingBright Před rokem

      I have not seen mains using Copper for transmission lines. It always seems to be aluminum. The rest of the shop is wired with copper wire and fittings. I am no expert, just saying what I have seen as distribution lines by major power companies.

    How is this working for you. I'll be honest I know little about hydraulics. I thought about doing this same thing before I came across yours and, killing it countys video doing the same thing. The reason I thought it wouldn't work comes from tractor chat rooms. There are many people who have asked about doing it this way, only to have a member of those forums tell them to study up on what the 3rd line does. The only fear/question I have about doing it this way. ( I want to so it's easily removable.) Why does Summit offers kits that plug into JD's BH ports. Their kits for bx23's don't, they have you remove the Tank and PB hardline and connect 2 hoses to those ports on the top and side of transmission.

    • @Going_Bright
      @Going_Bright Před rokem

      James, it is working awesome! On the BX23S if you think about it, the third line is not used when you are in "3 point" mode. So I just use these 2 hoses in my set up. I did another video to go over the details of how I plumbed my remotes. You can watch it here. czcams.com/video/Fk5FfjtffeE/video.html I will add this to the description of this video so folks can find it. In that video I also link to the parts I used for the fittings so you can switch back and forth easily. Since the remotes are inline, you could run both the back hoe, and the remotes but I have not had a need for that yet. I guess some folks add a hydraulic thumb. Hope that helps!

    I've just ordered my summit kit for my bx23s, although I believe I can still use my backhoe, I'm not yet sure how to hook the backhoe hydraulics inline with the summit kit. I guess I'll learn. Thanks for the video.

    • @Going_Bright
      @Going_Bright Před rokem

      You could run the Summit inline with the Backhoe, but I am not sure why you would want to. For me I am either running the backhoe, or I have my 3 point on. I don't think the BX could run the backhoe and say a wood splitter at the same time. That could be interesting though to try to manage. Let me put together a short video on how I plumbed my Summit and get it posted shortly.

      @@Going_Bright I have seen someone with a hydraulic thumb on the backhoe, but I was thinking more along the lines of how to attach the backhoe hydraulics into the tractor. Doesn't the summit use those same connections?

    • @GoingBright

      Peter, I would keep an eye out on ebay or local set lighting rental houses or similar for lights and stands. I did pick the ones up in this video for around $100 each, and the stands about the same at a thrift store. As the movie industry moves to modern LED lights these may become more prominent on these type of sites for sale. The type 410 in the video are from the 1940's but a similar unit from around 2000-current are much lighter and have a similar look. these would be the type 412. If a smaller unit is desired, you can look at the type 407. Shipping something like this over to you would cost more than the light costs I suspect since the light and stand weigh about 115 Kilos. Happy searching.
