Troubleshooting the HCS3-1201: Checking Needle Depth
If you are having problems with thread breaks, shredding thread, looping, and have (1) performed the basic troubleshooting first, such as changing to a new needle, checking proper needle angle, proper thread path, and (2) Have determined that the problem is happening only on certain needle bars (but not all of them), it is advisable to check needle depth on the problem needle bar position. Follow this procedure to check needle bar depth using a needle depth gauge on your HappyJapan HCS3-1201. Note that this procedure also works on other HappyJapan touchscreen machines, and that while the video shows 10 degrees as the adjustment point, it is also ok to use 5 degrees as the point to check needle depth

What is the maximum length and width you can embroider hats on it ? i have a happy hch 701
The HCH-701 has a maximum embroidery area on caps of 67mm H (add up to 10 to that with the "expand cap limit" setting) x 290mm w (2.7" H x 11.4" W)
The videos you offer are amazing and help alot. But please.. PLEASE do something with the quality of the video, at last 720p :| Thank you.
Thank you for the constructive criticism! The webinar video quality is controlled by the strength of the Internet connection. We are shooting with 1080P cameras but that day, but the camera throttles down the video quality if the internet connection is less than ideal.
Ball cap what size of needle to embroidery?
how did you make the patch?
Rene, you always give such good instructions with how to maintain our machines.thank you for all these videos.
Bevyjean, we miss you! Hope you are doing well in the UPI !
Is there anyway to reset the sash to lineup with the A and B points?
I shared the procedure with you on FB. How is your machine doing ?
What about the C point error?
what is that plastic material?
It's called Filmoplast. It's a heavy-weight water-soluble topping. You can buy it from www.texmacdirect.com
Thank you so much! Such a great help.
Thank you so much!
Hi can anybody share on how to go about embroidering a 2 line text format or design. The built screen seems not to support this and I can't find any video that addresses this. Thanks
If you have a touchscreen machine, you can do this in Layout mode. Look for the video on this channel discussing how to use Layout mode.
I found the video. Thanks. How about adding fonts to the touch screen, is that possible? If yes, is there an instructional video as well?
this is awesome! what time of plastic material did you use?
The water soluble clear backing was a heavy water soluble topping from Gunold called Filmoplast.
I can’t wait to get this machine. I’m hoping you guys come out with a multi head of this soon!
😢How I can see with More detail ,the steps for installation the bobina in to the box? all videos show very fast AND i did not see correctly 😢
Tres Bonne Machine 👍🙂
What needle and thread you recommending? My second question how often you oil the bobbin shaft?
Generally most people are using 40-weight polyester thread with a 75/11 sharp point needle. No need to oil the bobbin shaft, but it is necessary to oil the race of the rotary hook roughly every 100,000 stitches.
@@TexmacHappyEmbroideryMachines thanks for answer: Organ Needles 11 working fine at the moment, I order Groz-Beckert 11/75 we see how they hold up, I order 60WT bobbin thread, 40WT I need to refill my bobbin very often
@@TexmacHappyEmbroideryMachines I have another question I couldn't find answer too: my Happy HCS-1201-30 have German language installed, is there a English language pack I can download?

I bought the HCS3-1201-30 model. I wanted to connect wirelessly with WIFI, so I bought and plugged in the wireless LAN card USB. However, the embroidery machine does not get any WIFI signals. Can you explain the wireless LAN connection?
Good advice sir.

Hi, how can I move the pointer? I want it to be on centre.. but i don t know how
Hi, how can I move the pointer? On centre..?
Can the machine do chenille?

Very helpful!
What is the part number for the presser foot, or where can this information be found?
Thank you, Rene! The control panel is really easy to navigate through. I'll be making the suggested changes you advised.
Glad you like it! More videos coming soon on more in-depth use of the control panel
Great tutorial. Thanks Question. Is it necessary to check the gap on every needle?
What type of thread does the happy use? Yours looked like Madera polyneon classic 40???
Yes, the machine in the video is using Madeira polyneon 40-weight thread, which works very well with the machine. Happy machines work well with embroidery thread like Madeira that's made for commercial machines. Just make sure, no matter what thread you purchase, that you follow good procedure in setting up and testing tension for that thread and matching it with an appopriate needle (for example, 75/11 or 80/12 sized needles generally work well with 40 weight thread.
*Promo sm* 😕
Hi Rene. I have the HCD2-1501 and have been recently been having terrible problems with needle breaks on ball caps. So, I am checking everything. Two things that I found with my machine. One is that the L shaped brackets cannot possibly be flush with the front as shown in this video. They are pushed ALL the way back, impossible to go any further, and yet they are not flush. Secondly, I tried to adjust the set screws on the inside of the drum of the cap driver. Again, it is physically impossible for the cap driver to even touch the arm, as it will not allow it. The oval openings on my machine, do not have as much wiggle room and appear to be smaller. I was able to lower it a bit, albeit it was only maybe a couple of millimeters. I tried this because even before I found this video (which is fantastic!) I was looking at how high the driver rode over the arm; it looked abnormally high compared to my Brother machine which almost looks like it is laying on top of the arm, but is not. I am in the Happy group and reached out for help a couple of times with this needle breaking problem. You can respond in either place when you get a chance. Thanks so much for all that you do!
Something I just noticed is that I have rather large washers around all my screws in the drum. This is blocking it from being able to move up and down further. Do you think that I can take them off? In this video, it looks like this machine either has very small ones or none at all. Thanks.
Hi, Vicki, Rene here. I think I saw your post on Facebook. Call or text me at 980-230-2841 and we can find a time to go over that cap driver or shoot me an email at rrosales@texmacusa.com

What are the benefits of a servo and non-servo? Stitch quality wise?
Hi, Sam, good question! The HCD servo is new, but the current multi-head versions of the HCD (called the HCR3 series) have been running servos for 7 years now, so we have some history. There shouldn't be any appreciable difference in stitch quality - all model HappyJapan embroidery machines can all achieve very high stitch quality with very little to no difference in output between all the models, provided everything is set up correctly. However, with the servo models, we have found that the machines can sew more easily through more challenging projects (such as stiff trucker-style ballcaps). This translates to more trouble-free setup for jobs like this and more trouble-free production. There is also a productivity gain with servos which we will be measuring in upcoming videos.
@@TexmacHappyEmbroideryMachinesthank you for the reply! Would love to see it do some hats. That’s all I do. I’ll also be at the Expo in Long Beach next month. Will the servo version be there?
I noticed on the 12 needle the hoop was jumping around a lot
I have tried to make some patches with that plastic material & it always cuts through. How many layer would you suggest using? Or can you recommend the brand you are using?
Make sure you're using the Ultra Solvy, which is a very thick version of water soluble backing.
Is this for a code 050? Once you turn the dial to zero will the error code go awy and be fixed?
E-050 is only an indication that the main shaft isn't resting at the preferred position for starting, sort of like it's just 1 symptom of whatever the issue is. It is important to take it into context with whatever else is going on to help resolve the issue. It would be a good idea to come to a training class or webinar and pose your question there, where you can get a better understanding of how to understand common error. More videos are on the way that will help, but classes and webinars can help fill in the blanks in the meantime.
Thank you from Bulgaria!
Thank you for the clear guidance! Can you share how do you adjust the gap ?
How do I save the changes when I adjust the desgin when mirror it ?? Thank you
