How much use did it get? The new route the Skycar takes around Butetown because double deckers are no longer allowed to go the usual "6 Baycar" route to the Bay, coupled with the lack of a service to Penarth because CB now has the 305 and to increase frequency and the higher fares have left CB wondering how successful this year's Skycar is going to be. When I visit Cardiff Bay I always go into the Quantum cafe at 2:46 (it's lovely in there) and I walk down the path on the right from 3:26 onwards all the way to the barrage, very weird seeing it on a bus enthusiast's video! I've attempted to make a video of this walk, as a possible first foray into vlogging, but I probably won't edit and upload it unless I really feel like. Let's just hope the Scania deckers have a few more years left in them before they inevitably get replaced by milk floats!
Only bus enthusiasts use the sky at any way tbh, most passengers use either 1,6,8, or 304/X2 which I usually see them full, (especially route 1). There is an old service coming back which is like the 99 which is 91, it will be operated by single deckers but I still think only enthusiasts and bus vegs will go on it

Very nice, the 150s are my childhood trains. Remember when they had all the different wacky interiors when they were with Arriva! (This one had the full Arriva green/blue refurbishment with the lovely "castle" murals before all the Sprinters received the "WAG" and TfW refurbs. There was also the ex-Valley Lines/W&B interior and the ex-Wessex Trains interior.) I can't seem to find any with that nice whiny turbo(?) that I always remember them having though. Also went to BFT today and rode 768!

Too many double deckers on the fleet so they sold them, 317-323 are gone already, I'm pretty sure by Monday all of them will be gone

It's not rare. I've been seeing them on the No.1 more frequently. After it does 44/45 it'll do the 1A then jump onto the No.1 or No.2

Yeah ik, im not on my laptop atm so I couldn't put the orange ver. I only had the regional one
New moquette and interior! The green and orange on the first batch of Yutongs really didn't suit the new livery, so quite a wise decision. A bit concerned about safety being from a Chinese-based company given the safety standards that many industries in the country often lack, and apparently they are not the most popular with staff because of how heavy they are (weighs more than a diesel double-deck) wearing out the tyres quickly as a result. If the government didn't set out such infeasible targets for electrification then we'd probably have a load of Fencers driving around the city.
True, but in all fairness though, CB won't be getting any other types of electric buses from different manufacturers, especially ADL since the recent E200MMCs the got was bad so it's fair enough that they decided to get yutongs instead, would love a BZL though
@@cardiffbusspotter Yep, I'd definitely take a Yutong any day of the week over an Enviro200EV! Some of them have absolutely shocking build quality, with AMC's video of the Sheffield Connect ones showing noticeable body noise after barely a week in service. If they go for BZLs, I hope they don't say "Input 1" every time the doors open! 😂
Interesting facts there. Nottingham City Transport have 24 Yutongs and in 2025, are getting double-deckers. NCT are excited about them at present but will they be in the future. Be interesting to know what the drivers think of them.
The drivers here are kinda used to it now, and the bus isn't at all bad here, I also think that we would be getting the double deckers very soon
@@cardiffbusspotter I had a look inside a Newport Bus U11DD at the Barry Festival of Transport and the interior was very nice (seats a bit hard though) and felt very sturdy as well.
