What a bizarre ‘history’ this song has…first off, great job putting it together. Secondly, once “Bleed American” came out and I loved it, I of course went back to “Clarity” (one of my favorite albums ever), and then “Static Prevails”, which this is from. Tom Linton, the original lead singer (and still the lead guitar player) sings it; over the years Jim Adkins started taking lead on more and more songs until most have him singing on every track. Anyway, this was always one of my favorites off the 1st record, but A. I wonder why they changed the chorus, even if they had alternated between the two, but they changed it completely, and B. …HOW the hell did the makers of this film even find the original version if it was never released?? So strange. I’m guessing maybe they changed the lyrics bc out of context it might’ve seemed like he was being a bit creepy towards a young girl lol, but the rest is still a mystery…
