Delaminated Dodge Radio - Screen Change / Repair / Swap DIY
I have a 2018 Dodge Durango R/T and the touch screen started to delaminate. First it started with a small bubble in the corner then it started to spread across the entire screen... finally it kept going lower and lower. At first it was just an eye soar but then it started effecting the buttons. For me, it kept triggering the clock reset and then finally at it's lowest I couldn't even listen to music anymore as the station would change or the song on android auto would skip forward and back as the screen had issues. So I went onto Ebay and found a replacement screen. I found a great deal and actually got the screen for cheaper than mentioned in the video, my final total was $125 not $200! I thought this was an extremely great deal and couldn't pass it up even though I was worried it was to cheap to be true but here we are!!
This swap was way easier than I could have expected. I did watch some other DIY videos before attempting. To be honest, the hardest part was removing the trim without breaking anything. Being so thin around the screen I was worried about breaking the plastic. So to be as safe as possible I did go to the parts store and bought a trim removal kit. Once it was out, just remove the four 7mm nuts. The pull out the radio and remove the audio clips in the back. From there you need to remove six screws in the back of the radio, lift up the screen protector then swap screens. Easy Breezy!
If you have any questions just ask!

The 90s band I love to fill in for @FloydandAssociates played the opening day for Town and Country Days in Lake Mills Wisconsin. We had a blast and although the weather was sketchy and started to rain a bit... it didn't stop us from having a blast!! Here is me playing My Hero by the Foo Fighters. Been thinking of doing another one for a drum cover.. maybe this is the song?!?! Thank you @SabianV...
Factory Remo DW vs EVANS EQ3

Today, we tried a new reso head on my new DW Smoke Glass Contrails kit. I received this kit with a factory white semi ported remo head. Now, me personally, I am an EVANS drum head guy.. but I thought I would do a three point comparison. 1) Factory Semi Ported head with the mic set to center 2) EVANS EQ3 with the mic set to center 3) EVANS EQ3 with the mic set to the center of kickport Let me kn...

(Cover #71) Radiohead - Creep I love this tune... it's just a great tune to vibe out to. It's a great 90s hit and I still love rocking to it to this day. While just dialing in the new DW kit, I decided to just turn on the mics and go for it.. this was my first take after doing one practice run. I was super happy with the final result minus minus one crash hit... doh! lol @Radiohead Artist: Radi...

Go straight to 2:05 to skip my talk about Drum Heads! So I didn't spend much time trying to dial in and tune up this kit because I don't plan on leaving the factory heads on for very long! They came stock with Remo coated heads but soon I will be swapping them out for Evans EC2 Frosted heads on the toms, EMAD2 for the kick batter and most like EQ3 black front kick with Gold kickport. . . but wh...

GMAD for sure I'm a metalhead though
Muy interesante sin duda, pero si no sabes ingles no lograras tener tus platillos como los suyos, ni saber el o los productos que usa.-
Are these maple? Collectors?
I've been waiting for them to add a 10-inch tom to this series for years! Aside the ridiculous wait, will we get to hear it?
Yeah I just wish I would have gotten it before the new kit because I just swapped all of my mic's over from one kit to the other. But yes I'll get it tuned up and on and see what I can do.
I get mine pretty soon. Regular finish with the raw bell. I have to say, you are an amazing player!!!
Awesome! Thank you I appreciate it. Let me know what you think of them when they come!
Show us more!!!
I just use a dog hair vacuum. It pulls everything up. Nice room!!
Great idea!! Thanks for sharing! I have one of those never thought about it for stick shavings lol
Kinda tough to hear the difference.
in the end they all sound like a bass drum hahaha :) lol
Awesome❤
Wow! Happy birthday to your gramdma Zach!! And Happy 4th 🎉
LMFAOOOOOOO. Why are you doing circular motions? Every other person who uses this does it the right way. How about you try that?
There is a face in the coatedhead
I’m thinking of buying one for church. So you everyone can set their snares. Especially when we have a conference
how thick are the shells? also trying to choose between this and walnut, these darker rims for sure look more slim, but overall I prefer walnut shells. hard to choose as wide yellow wooden hoops don't look particularly attractive to me
The reason I love them is they are actually thin shells. To give them the classic big tones they kept them thinner.
Nice Work Zack!
Awesome drumming Zack
Thanks a lot!
You poor baby…ffs
Was doing a lot of research on this kit. I've heard a lot of good things about it! Watched a lot of videos but I think this is the one that really sold me! I'm for sure going to be running that tom head and kick drum batter head combo for sure! Thanks for posting!
I'm glad the video could help! I'm still rocking the same combo today and absolutely love it. So big and full with deep tones and depth. Love it!
@@ZackZweifel Thanks for the response, Zack! Are you running stock resonant heads on the toms as well?
Yes I felt the stock reso heads on these kits were good enough to keep on. I've had no troubles with them and they tune up just fine.
5:22 -- Wait...they are nothin' alike! The struggle is real.
They all sounded good, depending on what you're using it for, for Rock/Metal genre works well. For Jazz and old school funk genre won't work.
Nice but would help if we knew which heads were on when you played them…
The one that says DW on top and Remo on bottom (the white head) was the Factory DW Remo. The Black head that says EVANS on the bottom with gold KickPort was the EVANS EQ3. Then, if you watch the video, you can see the microphone placement on the black head change from center to port hole. I figured it was obvious enough not to need labels. But I'll make sure next time I add labels.
Is this thing supercharged
It was indeed yes.
This guy lives a pretty comfy life when something like this ruins his whole existence. I *wish* a delayed tom was my biggest problem in life.
Be grateful we don't have to listen to his cringe YAY sound effects. He must think he has Cocomelon aged viewers.
Sorry my daughters loved that one... I'll keep it off going forward. Just gotta tell me lol 😆 😂 🙃
I think they all are essentially the same and putting the mic somewhat in the bass drum gives a little more isolation from other sounds.
Yeah in the kick port is my favorite also. I like that it's a bit more aggressive.
Having a Kickport and then micing the center of the bass drum really is not a good idea because you will get a lot less vibration than without the kickport. The kickport really only exists for micing the porthole. If I wanted to also mic the easy head itself I would not put a kickport in there. So the comparison between the factory head and the kickport head both being mic'd in the center is rather flawed. Mic in the porthole sounded the best
yeah understandable but figured I would see how it sounded since I had the capability. I really wanted to do the head without the kick port and just the port hole.. but installing those kick ports with the head on is a pain in the ass lol
I prefer remo factory
I once had a chip come off my drumstick (it was about 5cm long, 1cm wide and thickness was a slope, which makes sense as it was a piece of the shoulder) I don't have wood glue, but I do have super glue... I used that, did not even use a clamp, and then sanded it. It works as a temporary fix, but i was surprised that it did last a month (not daily playing, but weekly) after all! WHen the chip came off again, it was almost exactly the same size as before. so then I sanded that part, just to not have a porcupine like your stick, and it's a backup now (or for whenever I need to hit a lot of cowbell)
yeah have always just been curious lol so gave her a shot and it was surprisingly super strong! Outlasted the other stick.
I wish I had some tools and skill like you to make a trap table like this! I do wonder though.. Why did you not want it centered front-to-back? All tables I've seen, have it centered.
My thought reasoning behind keeping the mount further back is so I can creep the stand over things easier..
That's indeed a nice reasoning! Do you still use it to this day? Are there any stability issues because it's further back?
I use it several times a year for the same orchestral gig I made it for. Still works phenomenal with no issues. So far my works has held up lol haha
Awesome to hear! Whenever I have some tools, and then later a little bit of skill, and spare parts, THEN I will definitely give it a shot too ;) Thank you for your answers!!!
All 3 sounded pretty good to me. But we do not know what your doing on the mixing board your using to record this audio. I did a similar experiment a long time ago. I found the kick port to actually cause problems. It damaged the port hole I cut and tore the bass drum head. So I prefer to use a 4 3/4 plastic reinforcement ring, no kick port and I place my mic inside farther. It's about 4 inches inside the port and pointed at the beater. I get a lot more slap and thud while still getting plenty or resonance. I also use single ply emadd head as a batter. And an Emadd reso. This is a very good video. Thank you for doing this. Bruce
yeah I've had some failed ports in the day.. but I've learned to cut short and then sand it until even with the template. That's worked great for me.
Mic in the kickport is best! And yessss the black head with gold port looks as amazing as I pictured hell yeah dude!!!
yeah Black with Gold is the better option. I just ordered gold DW and SpazApproved decals for it!
All 3 sound good, I prefer remo factory my opinion always 🥁
All 3 sounded good the mic in the port was really good. Side note snare sounds wicked good to me.
Thank you!
Eq3 with Mike centered on head...seemed to produce more volume and a deeper note...I had similar luck as posted above, with my kickport...now run my eq3 , with the factory port only...less wear and tear on the head...and did not help with tone, or enhance volume...my O2..
I love the mic in the kickport better. That's how I mic my kick drum
yeah it's a very aggressive edgy/punchy sound that I really like.
Overplayed and missed the emotional fragility of the groove. Don't just play like you're on a metronome.
Yes, this is something I've always struggled with is being an over the top player. I fail to keep simple what needs to be kept simple.
That’s one way to end a video 🤘🏼
hahaha thanks! \m/ Thanks for watching!
DW is made in the US, PDP is made in Mexico. That would be my guess. I waited 3 extra months for my paiste 2002's to come. Sucks, but worth it i guess.
worse.. China! That's 100% the reason for the long wait.
I've had a 21" bash ride for like a decade. It takes a while to really open up & is obviously the loudest thing in the room when it does lol. Considering the HHX groove ride though because it sounds like that sweet spot between being super loud & super washy. Need to try one for myself.
Should check out my other new ride... the HHX BFM WorldRide! It crashable and keeps the stick definitely right away too. Also has a raw bell. Super nice! It's now replaced my Bash Ride.
@@ZackZweifel awesome, thanks for the rec!

I get to play this at a gig on Friday, so fateful I stumbled upon this! Thanks for posting, drums sound great!
I get to play it this Thursday! Haha I hope your gig goes well! Thanks for finding it and watching it!!
No way, (I play electronic at the moment but I’m planning on buying an acoustic kit soon) my dream snare has HD dry on the batter and 300 on the reso
That's the perfect combination in my opinion
Drums great
Love the new kit! Love that ride! It doesn’t keep building as you ride it. I see that it’s a 20” AAX but what flavor? Concept, Rock Power Ride?? Which one?
Actually it's a 22" HHX BFM World Ride! It's absolutely amazing with specifically placed hammering for crash riding without losing any definition. I just did a review on it you should check it out
Nice job Zach. #SpagzApproved!
That's what I'm talking about! Haha #spaz/spagz approved 🤣

Awesome drum cover. I know this song from the video game, Rock Band
Haha that's how I found the drumless track!
I love this
A+ video
Thank you very much!
What medium ride was that?
That's the Sabian XS20 Medium Ride.
@@ZackZweifel thanks
You should definitely try the onyx thats the one I use right now and I love it but I also love the HD and genera dry
The Onyx is a great snare head! Rocked it on my old X7 kit.
